Cory booker touts gun control plan, says ‘thoughts and prayers’ are ‘just bulls***’

Yeah, he really said that:

Is this the type of individual we want in Congress? One that maligns prayer considering nearly 3 out of every 4 Americans believes religion to be fairly important or very important to their lives?

He's right. Nothing fails like prayer.

Haven't tried it, have you?

On second thought, it appears you don't even know what it is.

I do know that if a child is missing you're helping infinitely more by going out and looking versus praying for a safe return. So there's that.

Yes you can. And one remains a lot more effective than the other.

Superstition has never been and will never be the right answer.

Looks to me like he, and his apologists, have also just declared all Muslims, their prayers, and their support, "is just bulls**t"

Do you have any objective evidence that thoughts and prayers work?

I've never seen a law enforcement officer put on a thoughts-and-prayers vest to stop bullets.

"We're not going to give thoughts and prayers, which to me is just bulls**t," he added. "I'm sorry to say that as a man of faith, but I was taught faith without works is dead. We're going to bring a fight with everything that I have to solve this problem. And because it's solvable, and we know it."
So what you suggest is exactly what Booker said. LMAO

Thoughts and prayers as an exercise in mindfulness is all well and good. But as a substitute for actions and policy by our political leaders, indeed they are bulls**t.

How do you know that the ballistic vest that saved an LEO's life wasn't an answer to someone's prayers?

So you're an industrious prayer? LMAO

Praying takes as much effort as it gives results in the real world. AKA, none. bulb

#VulgarDonald "Trump is a pathological liar." "Trump is a phony." "He doesn't know the difference between truth and lies. He lies practically every word that comes out of this mouth."

Then: "The pattern we've seen under President Obama, disregarding the law, is really one of the most troubling aspects of this presidency, When he disagrees with the law…he simply refuses to comply with it."
Now: "Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny, Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America. I stand with Kim Davis. Unequivocally. I stand with every American that the Obama Administration is trying to force to chose between honoring his or her faith or complying with a lawless court decision."

"What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that, not only what he (McConnell) told every Republican senator, but what he told the press over and over and over again was a simple LIE."

Then: "This bill (Hurricane Sandy relief) is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington—an addiction to spending money we do not have. The United States Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects that further expand our debt."
Now: "Today, Texans are hurting. ... Democrats and Republicans in the congressional delegation will stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations to provide the relief to help the Texans who are hurting."

"In the 13 months I've been in the Senate, it has become apparent to me the single thing that Republicans hate and fear the most - and that is when they're forced to tell the truth. It makes their heads explode. An awful lot of the Republicans wanted exactly what Barack Obama wanted, exactly what Nancy Pelosi wanted, exactly what Harry Reid wanted, which is to raise the debt ceiling, but they wanted to be able to tell what they view as their foolish, gullible constituents back home they didn't do it."

"Look – look, of course we should have a surgeon general in place. And we don't have one because President Obama, instead of nominating a health professional, he nominated someone (Dr. Murthy MD & Harvard Medical School Professor) who is an anti-gun activist."

"What I tell people is I wear this (indictment for abuse of power) as a badge of honor"

"His (Robert's) decision yesterday and his decision a couple of years ago violated his oath of office,"

"Today's Democratic Party has decided there is no room for Christians. There is a liberal fascism that is going after Christian believers."

Better question: How do YOU KNOW that prayer had ANY EFFECT in procuring that ballistic vest?
