Yeah, I have Alexa device, Google home and chromecasts and never really understood roku until I got Roku TV.. it's so easy to access and lots of content available. My wife finds Roku to be easiest for her to navigate also.

A bit of an over exaggeration since you only save $10
"over exaggeration" is a bit of a redundancy.

I have this model and even the reviews agree, the remote has constant connection issues. I see it everytime I use it

If you have Spectrum cable they only have a Roku app for streaming cable. None for the Fire stick (you can sideload one but then you need a Bluetooth mouse also) and it won't let you cast from your phone. So I have 2 rokus for extra TVs in my house and get full cable on each of them without a box.

that really sucks, maybe that is a battery saving feature, would be nice to toggle that off. I'll stick with my Premiere + box and TCL Roku TVs. Never an issue except conflicts with too m many Roku remotes.

If you ar new to Roku, you need to understand the engineers and UX People who made this clearly don't have bandwidth caps. You MUST press HOME when you are done watching or it will stream forever. There is no power off button either so they don't pay electric bills either. I have mine on a eteckcity remote so I can cut power to it when not in use.

My older Roku also has remote disconnecting issues. Fortunately the Roku app on my phone can replace the remote. Lately the remote has been better. Remember these are wifi remotes, not IR remotes like virtually every other remote you have used in the past.

I'm giving a thumbs up, if you absolutely positively just want the basic streaming options you get out of the box, this is a good buy.

However, no KODI. It cannot be installed on a Roku. So, if you have even a small notion of going the.... more complete library route of Kodi, I'd recommend against this box.

Or plug it into your TV USB port so it shuts off automatically. Also, it draws very little electricity, it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

These are good for the old people in my life, not as easy as channel up/down though if that is what they are used too. I would say xfinity customers should find it easy though.
Notably, there is no Fox News if you have one of those old people. CNN has a great app though, also smaller players like Newsy and Sky News.

Are the complaints about the remote that they eat batteries, connection issues, or just die? Seem to be mixed diagnosis reading reviews.

Does the Premiere+ with WiFi remote seem to have similar issues?

I assume the IR remotes don't have as many problems.
