Currently using HyperX Cloud 2's for gaming. Will upgrading to these be worth the price? Anyone have experience using open back headphones for gaming that can give their thoughts ot it?

I believe this is considered semi open and it was excellent soundstage. You can tell where people are

I use them for gaming. Mostly apex or pubg. I like them a lot. A amp is beneficial but nor mandatory with these. Decent sound stage and great bass. Better sounding on these and better direction than all my other headphones. I have bose qc35 2, sony extra bass, sony ps gold 2nd gen, plantronics focus and turtle beach xp400

Even though I had a $10 Amazon gift card, it was a wash between this deal and Newegg. I cancelled my Amazon order(I waited a couple days and it never shipped) and just went with Newegg. Newegg order got here in about 2 days.

These are fantastic for gaming. Huge soundstage, detailed highs, and just the right amount of bass. Plus they're plenty comfortable.

I picked these up intending to use mostly for listening to music. They are great. Especially at this price. But as an added bonus, I paired it with a simple boompro mic and find myself using these in gaming (PS4) more than all of my other headsets except for times I am doing a few things at once and need wireless. I didn't buy it expecting to use it this way so it was a nice surprise to be gravitating towards it as my all in one go to headset.

Just recently bought one recently.

The bass is not what most people described them to be. It's pretty accurate with a bit more sub bass than most other headphone. Most of the bass you feel is the mid bass. This sub bass give the headphone more depth in my opinion.

The mid is brought up forward, while treble isn't fatiguing. Being an open headphone, the sound stage is wider than most closed back. Most closed back headphone is bass heavy in a sense that the mid bass slam is more heavy, you won't have that slam with the open back.

Cable is 3 meter so if you use it in one place, route it then forget it. Otherwise buy an aftermarket 1 meter cable or use an existing one.

Not necessarily. Music sounds better on these than on my buddy's sennheiser 650
At list to my ears. his are low on bass but more mids and highs.
I regret not getting the k702 for 150 at the last sale but not sorry I went with these one's. The Philip's are easier to power. no amp needed. k702 and sennheiser need amps to sound great. Like a phone amp, won't do those any justice.
Strictly music, I personally would stick to Philip's for bass, gaming, the k702 and a nice amp.
