For some reason, the low profile sticks with the black spreader are listed at $79.99 free shipping at Newegg. Typically, these are $20 more like the other colors or on sale for $90 like the red ones.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6820233852

Theses are the cheapest 3000 CL15 16GB (2x8gb) sticks available at the moment. Timing 15-17-17-35.

The much slower CAS 16 sticks made FP last month for $1 less but this is a better deal in absolute and relative terms.

Amazon is now matching it by dropping $20 from earlier. Thanks SenorPantalones

Check your motherboard QVL approved memory list if you're on Ryzen. I had some Corsair Vengeance 3000 DDR4 kit similar to these and the things wouldn't boot on anything faster than 2133. Maybe this has been corrected with BIOS updates by now. I usually like Corsair but I had to send those back.

Just glanced at the reviews on Newegg and some others have had issues too.

If you're on Intel then this is a no brainer, insta-buy.

They always come up with 2133 by default like many 3000s out there but have an XMP profile to clock at 2933 at the advertised timings. This is very common for 3000s. The board needs to be able to overclock at XMP. Not necessarily an AMD or Intel issue.

Looks like they just matched it. They were at a $100 when I posted the deal. Funnily, Newegg business isn't matching their own retail price. Smilie

The pair I had did diddly squat on a B350 mobo with XMP enabled. Would only boot at 2133. Any manipulation or manual clock adjustments was just futile. Slapped in a pair of "cheap" team dark force 3000 on same mobo and came right up at xmp 2933mhz. Been fine since.

But I'd wager this has been corrected in a bios update since then. I no longer have then to try. I only mentioned because I wasted a week trying to make the things work.

If you have extra money and need the speed.

Ryzen only plays nice with even number CAS latencies like 14 or 16. It won't want to run at 15. That's how it was early on, I'm not sure if it's the same anymore.

I've been running these @ 2933 on a MSI B450 Carbon + Ryzen 2600. I was able to run pretty tight timings, but I'm not overclocking (yet)

Rock solid, but they are on my QVL List.

The Ryzen 3000 supports 5000mhz DDR4 RAM.. these 3000mhz will be slow for the new chip.

How much do you think the 5000 RAMs will cost in the next year or two? Confused Smilie

I purchased the gskill flare x that is guaranteed to work for ryzen and with timmings 15 15 15 32 it's been working great but now I want to go from 2400 speed to 3000 or even 3200.
