Curious and serious Q: besides for anything sexual, what else do folks use petroleum jelly for? I've read articles about other uses but I'm more interested to hear it first-hand Smilie
Besides lubrication and moisturizing, the two other features I found vaseline useful is air sealing and fuel.

I heard vaseline should not be applied on battery terminals because it does not conduct electricity. But I have had good experience for my cars to prevent the terminus from corrosion from being in contact with air and water by covering it in vaseline for years. I also dip cotton balls into melted vaseline to create inexpensive fire starters for campfire and charcoal grill..

It can also be used as a glue in come cases but because it melts easily in higher temperature, hot glue / melt, or a normal glue / crazy glue is a better way to go. Same reason why vaseline is not suitable for weather sealant.

Using petroleum jelly (aquaphor or vaseline) on my lips every night before I got to bed has cured my chapped lip problem. I used to have burts bees out every hour during the day, no more. I'd recommend night use unless you want to look like you just put on lip gloss to look on point for your co-workers.

In-stores only at Walmart in first-aid section. Yes, 1.75 oz. is really small. Walmart has 2.5 oz. tube in baby section for around $1.25. A little easier to use than the tub. Big tub, 13 ounces, is the best deal at Walmart at $1.97 if you need large size.

Ive used this on my face lips for years now. Works great, even vs some of the more expensive lip balms I've tried. But since going out looking like I just ate a bucket 'o KFC isn't always the look I'm going for(sometimes, it is, tho) I still keep lip balm(Khiel's brand).

Curious and serious Q: besides for anything sexual, what else do folks use petroleum jelly for? I've read articles about other uses but I'm more interested to hear it first-hand Smilie
I've used this on my face for years since I was a baby, and I guess I credit it for keeping my face pretty clear. A lot of people ask if it causes break out from the grease but it doesn't.

Looks weird carrying a bottle of vaseline around the store, especially awkward at the checkout stand.

Cotton balls plus petroleum jelly make a good fire starter. They burn slowly and for long enough you can get a fire going even when the tinder is damp.
Was just about to post this. Cool little trick for getting those stubborn fires going. Can also use the air mattress inflator to really get the fire going once it's caught.

Why put it on your skin? Petroleum is a naturally occurring, yellowish-black liquid found in geological formations beneath the Earth's surface. It is commonly refined into various types of fuels.
