Cotton balls plus petroleum jelly make a good fire starter. They burn slowly and for long enough you can get a fire going even when the tinder is damp.

Ive used this on my face lips for years now. Works great, even vs some of the more expensive lip balms I've tried. But since going out looking like I just ate a bucket 'o KFC isn't always the look I'm going for(sometimes, it is, tho) I still keep lip balm(Khiel's brand).

Curious and serious Q: besides for anything sexual, what else do folks use petroleum jelly for? I've read articles about other uses but I'm more interested to hear it first-hand Smilie

Most heavy duty creams use petroleum jelly as a base. I use it on my cracked feet that become painful very quickly. A couple of times helps a lot. Regular use to keep cracked feet away. I also use it on any and all cuts and bruises, especially major ones - it helps prevent scarring and also very quickly gets rid of pain.

I use it on carved pumpkins. I dip them in bleach water, dry them and rub the insides and cut sections with petroleum jelly. They seem to last much longer this way.
