Not just a PG&E customer, but "a PG&E customer with central air conditioning".

It's asking to confirm detail of my "Leap" account. I'm a PG&E customer but have no idea what Leap is or Leapfrog Power, Inc. Is this for all PG&E customers or targeted only to those who have whatever this Leap is?

Leap is creating a "Rush Hour Rewards Program" which sounds like a Automated Demand Response program. It does require having a Nest as stated in the Eligibility Requirements
Quote :
The Rush Hour Rewards Program is available to PG&E residential electric customers who meet certain eligibility requirements. In order to participate, you must: (1) be a PG&E residential electric service account holder; (2) have an 802.11 wireless network at the PG&E service address; (3) have an active Nest account linked to your Nest thermostat; and (4) agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. In addition, in order to participate in the Rush Hour Rewards Program you must have an installed, operable Nest thermostat controlling an air conditioning unit, at your PG&E service address.
Looks like this can occur up to 20 times ("events") during the summer. They can adjust your thermostat based on the grid's power demands, but you can override this my manually changing it back.

Oh cool.. let's let the power company control my thermostat 🤤

How many times do tech companies need to get caught with their hands in the cookie jar? "Oh... sorry.. we kept the audio.."

I'll stick with my old dumb thermostat hooked up to a higher seer A/C. This stuff is madness.

I got confirmation for my enrollment. No mention of the Google Hub. Still waiting as well. The offer is listed on Nest website but when I chatted with someone at Nest they didn't have an answers about what to do to get the Nest. Confusing.

I sent them an email asking about the status and this is what I got. I signed up about a month ago so not sure what's the hold up on this.

Thank you for your email. We have successfully received your registration, however, the program requires that Leap verify customer eligibility data with the electric grid operator, California Independent System Operator (CAISO), which can take at least two weeks. Once your account eligibility is confirmed we will send out your Google Nest Hub.

Thank you for your patience – we are working hard to expedite this process.

How did you email them? Nest customer service has no idea and they said contact PGE. I signed up on 5/14.
