Would these be a good upgrade for my 1970's vintage Klipschorns?

J/K - looks like a great deal.

Anyone know how these compare to the RS-10? I've been on the lookout for those to match my current system but can't find a deal on them. These look similar or better, but I can't find anything that says that they definitely are.

I have the rs-10s and from the research I did on them last year, they are somewhat better than these. They also cost about the same amount when on sale...

Good to know. I'll wait for a deal on those then since they match the style of my others better. Thanks!

No problem. I doubt there is a huge difference, and the rs-10s are getting harder to find, so this may not be a bad deal for you.

I have an rb-10 front/rs-10 rear setup paired with sub12 and r-120sw subs and it has been great. I am tempted to add front towers, but have resisted thus far because I just don't think it would make a significant enough difference for the price.

Looks to be a pretty good deal! Was gonna order 4 but did some research and found out since my couch is against the back wall 7.1 is worthless, kinda devastating, lol, as we just built the house and I thought I wired it perfect. With the sectional couch we bought the back couch has to go against the wall. Oh well. Wish there was some speaker that would work for couches against the wall but from the research i just did doesn't sound like there is. So I'll have to go back to 5.1 ekkkk.

I am surprised there is interest in wide dispersion speakers since Atmos is all the rage. I would think you want direct radiating speakers for Atmos to distinguish where the sound was placed, rather than just ambient sound which existed prior to Atmos.

Anyway, yes I see people still used these for Atmos rears, but I am not sure why. What I have read is if the speaker is less than 5ft away from main listening position, that then you may want to disperse the sound instead.

I am not an expert here. Just looking for some rear surrounds for my Atmos system.

You could always put them above you and just go 5.1.2 but the lack of true atmos content I'd still go 7.1. There are possible non ideal positioning for the surrounds and rears that still sound great. I've seen surrounds on the sides and rears mounted on the wall behind the couch angled down toward the listening position. Also surrounds at like a 45 angle and rears at the 90. Didn't sound bad to me but i'm not an audiophile expert.

Could still do ceiling speakers or similar if you really wanted to get that 7.1 feel
