All TP-Link devices are on sale at Walmart.

Single light switches are $15, white lights are 7 bucks... plugs are $9 for singles and $13-15 for double packs.

The Fiet price at Costco for 2 bulbs at 24.99 still seems like a better deal than this.

And thats not even a deal, just the regular price.

Some multicolor smart bulbs are down to $10; I've always been fascinated by these but now that I have a good amount of plugs I don't really need them right? Mood lighting is cool but again do I need them? (Every SDer's dilemma)

Can multiples hook up to a hub? Don't want to bog down my router with individual ip addresses. Thx in advance.

Unfortunately not. Depending on your router you may be able to put them on a guest network in a different subnet.

Damn, thanks I'll look into that. Maybe just buy a second router outright

Feit bulbs are awful.

Buying smart components is extremely easy now. You have to ask only one question:

Is it Z-Wave?

There is no second question, ifs, buts, none.

I use those Feits, I use color and white (adjustable) TP-Links and the Merkury brand lights. I also use Arlo outdoor lights.... no exaggeration, only the Arlos have caused me trouble by the bridge constantly being unreachable.

Every other brand mentioned has been a pretty good experience.

I've been down-voted to hell in Philips threads for saying the Feits are good, but it is what it is - rock solid for me.

I'm new at this and don't seem to know how it works. I click on the deal and it goes to Walmart with a price of $29.97. How do I get the $15 price?

Same thing here. Someone else may be able to confirm but it may be a limited stock item you can't order the stores current stock online for pickup.

But why, with 253 usable IPs on a standard/24 subnet what are a few bulbs going to harm
