Anyone know if any of these are constant? The current machine we have will play for an hour then shut off. It helps with falling and staying asleep but that doesn't just very long because of auto shut off. Third shift workers can have terrible time with daytime sounds.
I can only speak to the ASM1007 (the $20 one), but: no auto shut-off. It will stay on forever if you leave it alone. It does have an optional timer function, so you can set it to turn off if you want - but that isn't the default behavior.

Two buttons on the Micro lasted only about a month. It still works with on/off at the same volume/program to keep our toddler asleep while our newborns fuss in the night but perhaps the refurbs have been "fixed" and aren't just returns. It does last a long time on a charge.

These are great, I own a handful of them, original, mini, etc. I use the original and place it under my daughters crib.

I connect it to the Etekcity electrical remote to easily turn it on and off.

Nah no racism. White is just the superior color of noise. The machines do Pink and Brown as well. Turn it off and you got Black too!
You don't need a machine for brown noise. *farts*

I definitely don't. My brown noises don't particularly help with sleep. Haven't gotten to the point I can use them to knock myself out.

I worked in a law office where these were used constantly. Apparently I suffer from a disorder that causes extreme irritability around these machines. I highly suggest anyone with diagnosed metal disorders be very wary of these devices. Low sounds, hums, etc will cause me to hallucinate or overall just become a irritable person. Long term exposure especially when sleeping can literally drive some people to do insane things.

Took me a very long time to actually figure out what was triggering the episodes and I hope if anyone else has similar issues, this can help them also.
You should have said something. I'm sure they could have put together a lawsuit against the company that makes these.

I bought the LectroFan ASM1007 (19) dollar one and so far I like it. It seems to have a "fuller" sound with deeper tones that vibrate in a way that my echo dot doesn't, hard to explain. It is continuous sound which because of extended sound range almost vibrates my sound space (hard to explain too). This device can be made to get quite LOUD or soft depending on environment and placement. If you flip though the sounds, some are louder than others, but if they are soft ...adjust the volume ... because they might work if they are louder or softer. A few of the sounds when I cycled them didn't sound that great UNTIL I picked one I didn't like that much and changed the volume and then that one worked for me.

I still use fans and AC in my room at times and have this unit going 24/7. I was using a smart plug to turn it on and off and that worked, the default sound is the last one you used when you manually turned it on and off, so if you like a sound turn device off and then on ... then when you use the "smart plug" , it will default to that sound.

I have Dohm units too, but it doesn't have the sound range that this unit has.

I have used mp3 files, and youtube videos for sleep aids too and Echo dots and Google mini's ... have fun... finding a "sleep device" or "masking device" that works for you.

Depends what kind of features you're interested in. Personally - the Micro is sufficient for me. I only care about fan noise & white noise, so I didn't consider the pricier options (which offer a wider array of sounds).

Maybe they don't work on yourself - but do your brown noises knock out other people? You might have a low-key superpower.

I have the micro and my experience has been great. Use to use my phone before, but I enjoy using this better. I just feel well rested. I would recommend a size bigger than the micro tho. The ocean sound isn't that loud sometimes, well to me at least.

How is the micro LectroFan compared to the regular? I already own the regular which I bring along with me for travel but could use a smaller one.
The micro is shockingly good. The one weakness seems to be battery life, which the new micro version improves on, I think. Although the battery does last through a night with my newish micro.

Beside the sound options, how is the volume? Is it pretty much the same across the board?

How did you confirm it was the noise and not the job? I imagine working in a law office would make me downright homicidal.
Therapy and locating when and where it was occurring. I've had it occur to things as strange as repetitive bird chirping, a.c. vents, computer fans, etc. I am a very calm person and not at all harsh, yet this can cause me to believe I had hour-long conversations with people who aren't home. Ever see silver lining playbook? less dramatic, less obvious, I usually have no awareness it's happening until things don't add up.
