I love the Electrofan, especially the power consumption aspect. I love that there is no repeating sound and that it's generated and not a looping recording. I don't like that the power adapter that it comes with. It is really cheap and flimsy and fell apart in my experience. Also the cord under the base is really thin and mine actually snapped off. I bought a Marpac afterwards and I miss the electrofan. There is an actual fan inside the marpac so the energy consumption is much higher

You use a fan in the winter?
I do. Also know several others that do the same so don't think it's uncommon. It's not like it's in an open window and it's nice to have some air circulation.

Can't go wrong with any of the LectroFan models. We have the mainstream larger format device as well as a handful of micros and love them all. The micros also allow you to use them as a Bluetooth speaker which is an added bonus. Don't expect phenomenal audio from it via Bluetooth but it's there if you need some tunes. Battery on the micro seems to last through the night which is awesome. We also bring a micro or two with us when we go on vacation to block out hotel noise. We all sleep very well with these devices on at night.

since these devices uses usb connector you can hook up a power bank 5000mAh or higher for portable use.

Beside the sound options, how is the volume? Is it pretty much the same across the board?
I've read that the more expensive models do get louder than the ASM1007. However - that model is plenty loud for me. I can't imagine needing higher volume, unless maybe your bed is in the middle of an airport runway, or on a construction site.

I know folks who use fans in the winter to help circulate the heat and therefore, save money on electric

I may be in the minority but I tried one of these to replace a standing oscillating fan. Didn't work for me or my wife. The real fan sounded better for us. It is superior to any phone app we tried.

I didn't order it last time when it was a Frontpage deal and was sort of regretting it. Going to give it a shot this time. I ordered the LectroFan White Noise Machine. Thanks OP.

You should have said something. I'm sure they could have put together a lawsuit against the company that makes these.
It's a tough sell proving that a machine is making you hallucinate...especially when you already have a disorder. And even if it does, whose fault is that really?

A few months ago I purchased a LectroFan Micro for $20 and I was so impressed I purchased the LectroFan Evo last week. Unfortunately I just returned my LectroFan Evo to Amazon today though. It has a slight low frequency static noise to it and drove me nuts, sort of sounds like its a slightly blown speaker, has that kazoo static noise. Going to purchase another and hope it doesnt have the same sound.

Why do the comments about using a phone app get down voted??

They have plenty of sound options/customizations, timers and volume control.

I worked in a law office where these were used constantly. Apparently I suffer from a disorder that causes extreme irritability around these machines. I highly suggest anyone with diagnosed metal disorders be very wary of these devices. Low sounds, hums, etc will cause me to hallucinate or overall just become a irritable person. Long term exposure especially when sleeping can literally drive some people to do insane things.

Took me a very long time to actually figure out what was triggering the episodes and I hope if anyone else has similar issues, this can help them also.
We used an app paired with my bluetooth speakers.. I was fine with the rain/thunder/ocean sounds but there was some meditation yoga music that my girlfriend played that I figured out was giving me the worst night sleep and I was highly irritable.I'd sleep through the night but just wake up feeling horrible. I also didn't care for it's version of white noise, it gave me a migraine.
