MU MIMO which only works with a compatible far end laptop/tablet/etc; and a little bit faster USB but not as fast as something like an x6s; support for a proprietary BRCM mode on 5GHz.

If your r7000 died this might be a good replacement but it isn't much of an upgrade. The r7000 is/was a rock solid product with much longer range than its contemporaries. Real workhorse.

As low as $81 on ebay. This will be $99+ tax.

Bought one of these last time for $99 at walmart. Its a dual band and not tri band. Also the processor is a dual 800mhz i believe which is slower than the r7000 and many others. And the router storage is a bit buggy for me

Nevertheless im very happy with it. Fantastic range, speed, and ping especially for $99

Yes. My AC 1900..still kicks ass! I got it when Wal-Mart blew the R7000 for $50.

I totally agree with above statement and been using R7000 for few years and it's just great.

I see it as low as $49 at some stores (though in my area out of stock). I have an R7000 from the Thanksgiving price mistake snafu and I love it, but this would be a good replacement. If I could find it for $49 I'd get one.

I should know this but is this one of the mesh network ready versions? Want to run one upstairs and one downstairs hardwired off a switch.

I do this with a $10 router and have zero problems. Just make the network and password the same. Strongest signal wins.

I have R7000 and Netgear USB storage and DLNA support is garbage, very slow and unreliable. Signal wise it is the same as $40 router from Tmobile on stock firmware.
