I typically buy raw almonds. But they can be pricey.
When i dont.....
Costcos are over steamed, while Trader Joes is only slightly steamed. There is some freshness left.
From what i understand the costco standard almonds are ppo gassed while the organic are steam pasteurized.

Cheapest is still to make it yourself. Just buy a bag of choc chips, almonds, peanuts separately and mix together. I hate raisins anyways so these are never a good deal for me personally.

Costco or Sams club. Target has good trail mix too.

I guess you're correct.
TJ's raw walnuts 1LB- $5. TJ's raw or roasted almonds 1LB -$6. Then go to Aldi, and pick up a couple 12oz bags of mixed trail mix -$2.30 each, that has peanuts, raisins and cranberries, peta/pumpkin, and sunflower seeds..and some almonds.
Mix them together, and great tasting, and cheaper than Wholefoods. If you want some roasted peanuts, then Aldi's got the large container of them.
That said, I like hitting up the Happybelly deals...when I get them in time.

Interesting.
From my experience, Costo's don't taste as fresh as TJ's. You pay a slight premium at TJ"s over Costco's, but it's worth it. 1 LB is $6 at TJ's.
