How do these compare to this new 2019 one for 228 USD:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/SAMSUN...1750962289
I think RU is 2019 model.
NU is 2018 model

I found this in my local store... On the fence of getting one for gaming. Very few reviews around so far...
My suggestion as i always do.
Buy and try by yourself . If not like it. Return the tv😁

Bought 7100
Very bad at an angle. Everything looks light Blue to me. Straight on looks great. Long room on long wall = no go. At least for me.
Love it otherwise.

Got 7100 from BB few months ago, using it as PC(laptop usb-c to HDMI) screen. Not bad, but wish I've gotten this price. At the time it was $325.
Spec wise 7100 and 7200 supposed to be identical. 7200 is the Wally model.
Screen is ok if you sit in front of it. As a monitor it goes the job. Displays 4k at 60hz as expected. VA pannel, colors can be better out of the box, but this is not my primary and I don't use it every day. My main use is for laptop screen for Excel sheets and office stuff and in that role works good. If you are an artist or visuals are really important for you to I'd look for proper 4k monitor and spend some more. Saying that because for my media PCs I use IPS pannel and difference is noticable. This is a good alternative for the money.
Completely unrelated, but for my work laptop I got one of the ~30 bucks usb-c to HDMI with USB ports dongles. Have a KB and mouse connected along with the HDMI, works great as a dock out putting 4k/60hz.usbs work as 2.0 but mouse and kb does not need usb3, especially for office work.

NU is 2018, RU is 2019, but it doesn't seem that Samsung is producing the 40" 7 series in 2019, only the 43". I had my local Fry's price match this Wal-Mart deal today for the UN40NU7100 (San Marcos, CA - they had 4 in stock). Took about 15 minutes for them to go through the price match approval with a manager, but got it for $249. So far its a big improvement over my older KU6200 that this one replaced - much quicker response when navigating around.

this similar 7100 for 40", not talking 55" ...

I was hunting down 40" for months :-D, and settle with vizio v 40" from costco.
did many returns , Today tv panel is kind of lottery...

yeah, learn a lot during bought/returned, but most bought/returned were from costco. not abusing it, just use the good costco service.

I bought from coscto, bestbuy and walmart when looking 40"-43" size for pc monitor.
I'm looking to get one to use as a PC monitor / TV as well. Which model did you end up with and which did you return?

I kept vizio V 40" . v405-g<something>. good enough for no graphics editing, and angle-view is good enough.

I returned
* 40NU7200(walmart)/NU7100(bestbuy). color is more vivid but angle-view is very narrow. 43" Q model is good, but the price almost triple :-/

*LG 43UK6500 this is RGB nor RGBW model, it has shadowing on the edges when viewing as the monitor, why? the backlight has a wide gap with panel. if you are ok with edge shadowing, this has the best angle-view due on IPS panel.
Stay away 6300 or lower due on RGBW panel (nasty).

*TCL 43" 4 series(from Costco). the angle-view is narrow, and has dithering (not good for a monitor). I think someone posted the issueon tcl deal : https://slickdeals.net/f/13073593-55-tcl-55s405-4k-uhd-hdr-roku-smart-led-hdtv-279-99-ac-more-free-shipping-rakuten?src=SiteSearch

* element 40" (costco). yeah this was to kill my curiosity, STAY AWAY from this due washed color and narrowed angle-view,

those are returned Tvs ( or I could missed one or two). It was fun while it lasted.

good luck!!
I should jump 2 years ago due on many 40-43" selection. This year is very limited on my understanding.

try by yourself to get some 40" or 43" tv, and test those tvs by yourself.

good luck!!!

Have you managed to get one at that price?

The NU series has been replaced everywhere I shop, only phantom (fake) deals from brickseek left.

My vicinity shows 3 locations with 2 in stock and 2 locations with limited. Brickseek inventory is always a gamble but all three locations showing 2 in inventory are 20+ minutes away and just not worth it for me. Just thought I'd share if anyone was still interested or wanted to take a chance.

Zipcode 33426 for reference.

My local Walmart had one left 7200 $349 reg price. Was marked $249 on clearance. Rang up $124.

system software update latest version for UN40NU7200FXA is 1260

For $124 + Tax it's a great 40" 4k TV.
