I'm guessing HR means heart rate. Are the bands expensive to replace? That seems to be the catch for HR monitor related things in general

Reconsider getting any Charge2 fitbit devices; they are not even worth $20. The're junk. Jury is still out on the Charge 3. Cant comment on the Alta. They have a design flaw that causes them to fail to latch onto the wristbands. You can buy replacement wrist bands but it's just prone to failing - the latch once it goes never secures properly ever again.

This is a very serious quality control and engineering flaw for such a profitable company. I'd steer clear and maybe consider their newest products, if reports don't come out of any further design problems.

Bands are cheap...oem from ebay or unbranded brands everywhere

Should also be aware of a screen cracking issue on the Charge 2 and screen can't be replaced. Search it on the Fitbit forums. Typically happens after about a year of use which of course makes them out of warranty. Fitbit doing nothing about it but offer a discount on an upgrade. Some commenters suspect it has to do with the battery swelling over time. Decent device if you go into it knowing it likely has a one year life.

My Charge 2 has been amazing and I'd get one again in a heartbeat, if I needed to. Mine is still going strong 2+ years now.

I have the Alta HR and it's everything I want in a tracker, it's slim, has good battery life, great phone software/UI, only issue I have is it's not waterproof and no GPS. The new Fitbit Inspire(?) basically replaces the Alta and is water proof but still no GPS. I think I'd rather have week+ battery life rather than GPS in the long run
