There are some open boxes for 76 with no cupon, but Newegg open box policy is no refunds/exchanges/replacements. Personally I don't think it's worth the savings, but you can always try to RMA with Toshiba if the drive has errors

Anyone know how this stacks up with reliability and performance? Is this more like a WD Blue or Black? Thanks in advance!

Apparently these are as loud as a locomotive.

Reliability?
Keep in mind that unless someone owns a huge number of these, the responses you get will be meaningless, considering the sample size of 1 or 2 drives that people typically own. Rather than worrying about reliability, your energy would be better spent on worrying about backing up the data you care about.

Sound advice. Echoing your sentiments, from my experience and research, when it comes to HDDs, reliability is a crapshoot.

One thing is for sure, these Toshiba's are **very** loud. If you sit at your computer with a pair of cans bolted to your skull, volume cranked to 11, it probably won't bother you. But otherwise, it's jack hammer levels of clickety-clack clack.

Speeds are good 200mb/s and constant, have had one for a year, with no issues.

Reliability?
I have a pair of 5TB X300 drives in RAID1 that have been powered on and in use for probably close to three and a half years now. I have another eight 5TB X300 drives and eight more 6TB X300 drives in two QNAP enclosures for at least two years running 24x7, too.

Uncertain specifically about the 4TB models but the other X300 drives I've had have been incredibly solid thus far.

They aren't quiet but they are fine for my needs. Can't recommend them enough overall. I'm very pleased with them.
