Ubuntu could run miles even with an i3 4gb, let alone XPS configurations

This price, model and specs (DDR3😂) is normal, not even close to a Slickdeal.

I purchase the same laptop over a year ago for under $1k. The only difference being that I purchased the QHD display for battery life purposes.

I've been tracking either a 13 or 15 XPS for a while. I agree this is the going price, but the display upgrade on this model adds a couple hundred to the base price you paid. One can argue the value proposition of the touchscreen+4K, however you didnt buy the same laptop since this feature difference changes the price easily by 10-15%.

On another note, how is the machine holding up, performance, etc? I bought a XPS 15 a couple years ago and its been holding up well, albeit paid way too much.

I'm thinking another XPS or looking at the specs on the LG Gram.

It's a previous, 9370 model with weird webcam location. If you ever use webcam I would suggest to look for recent 9380.

agree
also for those who need USB-A (because there are none on the 9370 and 9380) look elsewhere...
im using 9360 because i prefer a USB-A port for me to stick the logitech mouse receiver in and leave it there

I purchased mine in April 2018 for $985 with these exact specs less the 4K display (3,840x2,160 resolution), at the time of my purchase the 4K version was only $150 extra but I opted for the QHD+ (3,200x1,800 resolution, touchscreen) for battery life AND the fact that the difference you see is negligible on a 13inch display. However, don't take my word for it, see the different in person at your local tech store.

If you can wait till the next holiday deals start rolling in I'm quite sure you'll be able to get the newer XPS 9380 model that comes with the newer i7-8565U, DDR4 and much needed repositioned webcam (this version's webcam annoyingly points up your nose) for maybe $100-200 more or take a look at the Razor Stealth, LG Gram or Lenovo comparable model.

Overall very good, my two issues are it going into Sleep mode only 50% of the time when closing the lid and it can be pretty delicate.

I travel quite a bit with it and I slightly bent the chassis from someone's carry-on shifting onto mine during a flight but that's to be expected from something that small and thin.

Besides that, it's still maintaining it's zippyness.

This is a great laptop but this isn't a Slickdeal, there will be more sales coming soon.
