Thanks for the heads up! I'm in the midwest so I had Lowes price match the item price and free shipping so I could also claim the 11% rebate. Booya.

Not a bad price but the aluminum ladder is $40 or less at least once per year. If you need one now, it's worth getting, otherwise you can wait.

The ladder is very light but quite sturdy.

The fiberglass one is a good price for the weight rating.

Just bought our first home last month. Been waiting for a decent deal on a ladder but 6' seems inadequate. Anything taller?

6' is good.
Sometimes a 8' is too tall.

I have both sizes.

I just bought this last week in store for full price. Would Home Depot do price adjustment if I take in the receipt ?

They should. If not, buy the item again and return the ladder with the old receipt. I did that During black Friday with an item that dropped in price after I had made the purchase. I was getting cash back and didn't want a price adjustment to mess up my "rebate".

Home Depot has always price adjusted for me. Call them up and let them know. You shouldn't have an issue. It's even easier if you use their credit card.

I'm 225 pounds... Should I buy the 300 pound cap fiberglass one?

Yes, more than likely you'll be carrying gear/tools up with you that may get close to the weight rating, but they probably have some kind of safety factor.

Or go on a diet.

If you're going to do anything remotely physical on the ladder (e.g. hanging lights, installing a fan) and not just painting pay the extra 20 for the fiberglass. The weight rating may be 250 for the aluminum but that's when you're standing perfectly level with spaced out weight distribution. I weigh in at 180 and the aluminum legs twist like nothing if I'm doing something other than painting.

Same here - great advice. Trying to get an 8' ladder through the house is a pain. I use the 6' ladder 95% of the time.

I have other filler-items in cart over $45 but free shipping for the ladder is not available. The "Ship to Home" box is greyed out while the other items are selectable.
