Nope.

I think Kurt played this model at Woodstock!

What kind of Jackson did you get? I just got a Soloist Pro SL2Q HT. It's pretty great. I've been avoiding anything with a FR because they just scare me.

I have the Soloist Pro SL2Q MAH, from Adorama lol.

It's not that bad to deal with. I watched a couple Youtube videos on setting it up. With the locking nut once you get it, it's set and it stays in tune for ages.

Basically just fix the trem with something, I use business cards to get it exact. Tune it (done in a different order than just going low to high). Go through tuning a couple times to get strings as close as possible. Lock the nut, then fine tune. Not too bad once you do it a couple times. It's definitely not a guitar you would want to change tunings on all the time though.

Used gear at guitarcenter has the best deals.
Recently picked up a mint condition Schecter Hellraiser C-1 for $300.
It's worth $900 new, and boy does this baby sound good.

I believe you're thinking of the Jag-Stang - which is a guitar that looks similar in shape that Kurt Cobain worked with Fender to design

Beginner here, been playing about 2 years on a Epiphone LP-100, would this be a decent upgrade?

It would be different. The pickups are different, the fingerboard is different, the overall weight of the guitar is different (the Duo Sonic is much lighter) and the overall tone and sound would be different. Hard to say which one is better made, because my Duo Sonic and Epi Lester are both nicely put together. But the sound change would be dramatic. So buy it.........

Nevermind, seems like it is still $319 if following the link (says $525 when searching on the site).

Don't overlook Craigslist for local guitars people are selling, the best deals I have gotten have been there, not here. Plus you get to see it before you hand over money for it. You can probably get a MiM Stratocaster $350-$450 if you are patient. Make offers, if people say no then wait on the next one. My immaculate MiA Stratocaster was $700 from a motivated seller.
Got an American HSS Strat from here on slickdeals for $630. Adorama that time too.

Deal expired before I could pull the trigger...dang. I'll keep an eye out for another one, I like the idea of a smaller scale guitar.

I purchased this and it came today. That being said it doesn't look like the pictures on the site. Admittedly this is my first guitar and I dont know much about them yet. But that being said the pickups are different than the pictures and the description on adorama's site. Mine also seems to have come way out of tune. One of the parts on the bridge is way loose. Anyone have any comments before I call adorama?

I'd send it back. Clearly, they sent you the wrong model guitar.

As for the bridge, man that's terrible, but it's probably easily fixed by leveling out the saddle height adjustment screws. Moot point, though, because I'd still return it.

EDIT: Of course, on second thought, if Adorama is willing to refund a bit of money, you could always keep it. Since they'd have to pay for shipping it back anyway, and then they'd have "open-box" guitar they couldn't sell as new anymore. That is, if you don't mind a single coil in the bridge position AND it's otherwise ok after the saddle adjustment.

Return for full refund, or find out the approx cost to repair and see if they will give you 2-3x that amount for your time/gas/troubles.
