I had this laptop (not the ryzen but the 8th gen i5 and i was very disappointed in the battery life. I was averaging 3.5 hours on light use. Wasnt too surprising considering the small batteries they put in here. I think this model has a slightly higher battery life but at the same time i believe it draws more power as well. Other than the poor battery life it was pretty decent. But if im getting a ultrabook i want a good battery life which is kind of a purpose for a ultrabook imo.

Good point, but $499! That is a great deal. For that price and these specs, I'm alright with a weaker battery.

Ah man... Why does it always have to be Dell. I just can't ever pull the trigger on a Dell product. I've had nothing but bad experiences in the past

Does this design have the heating/fan problem where the fan stays on constantly even on idle?

I read the BIOS update will correct some of the initial heat issues.

Ryzen mobile processors are not energy efficient. Usiea ryzen 5 2500u laptop and getting less battery life as compared to the same model with i5.

According to https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD...178.0.html it can manage 56.9 fps on low, with 720p resolution. It's not really suited for most games, but it'll do in a pinch. I wouldn't recommend it though, especially if it's your only means to play.
