I went today. These are not the chunky pieces but more like dust. I didn't get any. Waiting for the scotts to go on sale.

This brand has always given me nice chunky pieces. Maybe it's a regional thing (North Central Florida)

The red and black are dyed(never used the brown). I had some of the dye get on my concrete driveway but my electric pressure washer took it off no problem. It cleans off your hands pretty easy too. I bought 3 yards in bulk from a local supplier here and will never do that again. They use a stronger dye and its alot harder to get off Mad

I am in georgia and ive been satisfied with the vigoro too. I have put down about 50 bags so far. Ive always used the scotts earthgro over the last 2 years but decided to change it up this year. Main reason is I noticed the scotts mulch is made from pine bark/wood chips so around month 9 that alot of it moves around because its so light weight. Its fine for the first 8 months but after it dries out it can be moved with strong winds/rains. I do have alot of slope I mulch so that could be a big factor too. I wanted to go with bigger/heavier pieces.
