I have degoo, but did their free plan:
You can earn tons of free space from this company by watching ads/and trying out games etc in their app.

That said, not sure I'd pay for "lifetime" when pretty unclear if they will last. for a backup storage longevity is pretty important.

I'd also note the web/app interfaces are not user friendly

I started off with a free account to test it. Liked it. Bought the 3TB Lifetime from StackSocial almost two years ago. Just set up what you want backed up and it is updated daily. Easy to restore or share a file. No problems noted.

Is this even regular cloud storage? It seems like it's cold backup storage

Nobody KNOWS how long any company will last.

No one knows anything for certain, but it's a probability game.

I'm quite certain Amazon/AWS will outlive this company.

Heard mixed praises and issues with Degoo. Their privacy policy is somewhat sketchy, their software does not auto-upload all the time when it should, the upload/download speed is extremely slow in many cases, and so on and so forth.

Be careful friends.

I avoid these Cloud Backup services like the plague. They are a magnet for hackers. Go ahead and upload all of your private photos, emails and financial documents to some foreign server. Then do not be shocked to learn the company was hacked and your documents ended up on the Dark Web.

I back up all of my files on Portable External Hard Drives (mirrored copies) and store them at off-site locations.

Don't be surprised when a Chinese agent breaks into one of these offsite locations and set one of their super computers to breaking the encryption (if there's any) on this portable drive.

All joking aside, if I were to use one of these services, I'd do my own encryption before uploading even if it is offered as a feature. That way the risks I'd have is the company going out of business without warning or them losing the data without having backups.

After reading reviews, hard pass. IMHO a waste of money.

Tried a free account and eventually delete my account without uploading anything. Not easy to use.
