I have the 15 amp version of this machine. It's awesome for tilling up a garden, and I didn't need the 15 amp one. A word of warning, if you're ripping up weeds and planting in May, they weeds are going to come back. You need till at the end of the season and cover the garden with black plastic or a tarp for a few months to kill off the weeds. Then come back in spring and till all the good nutritious soil into your lovely weedless dirt.

That Ridgid cord will not work with this appliance, as you can't plug it in due to the protective housing around the cultivator's plug. You need a cord with a single plug at the end.
Your right, I use a 15amp adapter that fits right in the housing.

Is this thing good for sod new grass on hard soil or overseeding? I have hard soil lawn and i just aerated the lawn but still need to rake really hard, 50 percent grass there rest is just plain dead land where no grass is growing.

Yeah, it would work really well to prep the ground for new grass. I use mine for that purpose all the time. Of course there are half a dozen other steps involved in order to successfully grow grass, but in terms of ground prep (e.g., loosening and leveling soil) this would be the right tool for that.

Sorry for the late response..... but yeah that One looks like it would work. Actually that one is more beefy than the one I'm using. I have a little light gray looking one. Mine is non-corded.

Weed killer is not safe according to the news few days ago.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1005191

What's the safest way to kill weed?
Any recommendations?
Kill them with fire.

Propane refill is much cheaper than buying weed killers several times a year. And perfectly safe if you follow reasonable precautions. The only injury I got was frostbite from the propane tank once.(As the liquid propane turned into gas, it make the tank very cold.)

Those prices are a joke.
If you want a weed burner with auto igniter, go to HF
$30 and done

Got factory refurbished and newer model tj604e on eBay at $68 without tax last June.
I just offered somebody on Craigslist $60 locally. I'll see if they'll take it.
