This was recently a FP deal for $15 more than this price. I went ahead and ordered one, for now...

If you search around, there's a $5 off $30 Microcenter coupon that can be used in-store to make this deal even more slick. I can't post the coupon here since it is a slickdeals competitor. Search on google and you will find it...

Also if you ordered this drive recently at the $119.99 price, Microcenter will refund you the difference if you call or ask in-store.

Btw, it only has a 3 year warranty vs. some others with the same controller having 5 year ones, but you're also saving some money vs. many of the others. I am on the fence, myself, but ordered, anyway.

Would I be able to clone an OS off of an HD onto this?

Hopefully someone can answer that. I know for another ssd with the same controller people mentioned there being possible issues with doing it.

The main question I have is if someone can compare all of the ssds that sue the E12 controller where we know which ones have differences. For instance, this one ahs a 3 year warranty instead of 5. And someone else mentioned that some ssds don't have "true 4k sectors", whatever that means... Not sure if that would mean any of the E12 ones or what...

By the way, I had to call to even order this because for some reason the site kept saying it couldn't verify my address! Makes zero sense.

I'm going to be mighty annoyed if they come back and tell me they have to cancel my order they took over the phone, which takes days to process... So far it's ins tock still online.

I put my proper address several times and it kept saying it couldn't be verified. then it suddenly said my cart was empty. lol. So I had to add it all over, enter my info again, same issues... Called and he took the order, but who knows if it sets aside stock for me immediately or not.

I am planning at this point to use my 970 pro for a main drive and this from a secondary and then if I end up needing more space down the line could use external drives, I guess... If I didn't already have the Samsung I'd probably buy a 1tb drive of some sort instead.

Yeah, I'm tempted to return the sabrent drives I just ordered.I see now the inland is on the web store. I need 2, so overall I'd save $11 including shipping. Longer warranty vs 512e is the difference here. Hhmmm

Thanks. I forgot to mention that! I had searched for codes and saw that, but since I have no MC store in my state, I moved on and forgot about it for these posts.

Btw, where I said above I'd get a 1tb one if I didn't already have the Samsung, I meant 2tb* of another brand. If inland had a 2tb one I'd be tempted by that. I kind of like having 2 ssds, though, as it means I can have an extra backup of important files.

ok, so the inland one is not one that sues the 512e? that was what I was asking above, but I don't know much about it myself.

1 left at my local MC. Ordered for pickup.

Thanks OP!

EDIT: Altho for a few extra bucks (price and higher tax %), I'm tempted by the longer warranty and delivery to my door on the Sabrent Rocket.

try Acronis True Image, an OEM copy is free to WD drive owners.

Their customer db sometimes screws up. I've picked up in-store and they listed a totally different home address for me, not very reassuring - luckily no CC data on file.
