they (fenders) go on sale every so often from others at different prices... otherwise, when adorama has them on sale, this is the price.

In my area the 4 local shops are all around 1400 and up for new USA strats. Online dealers are always a tad cheaper. But this is a pretty good deal if you like lake placid blue.

That is a BLAZING hot deal on an American Professional Strat. Close to a 20-30% discount of internet price you see most of the time.

Another deal had this color in a cheaper model and it looked a lot different, is the picture on this accurate?

Just occurred to me that with all these Fender deals popping lately from Adorama, wondering if they're a Fender Squire dealer as well, and if they ever go on sale?

I don't recall ever seeing a squier at Adorama. The Mexican ones are on here all the time though.

I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I had this in my cart last time it came up a month or so ago and was bummed I didn't pull the trigger before it expired.

I saw on the last post that someone said the deal from February 2018 was a better deal for $100 more for the Fender American Elite Stratocaster. Knowing I don't have a time machine to go back to then, and realizing that it may or may not hit on that deal again in the future, just how much better is the American Elite Stratocaster than this one? I read an article that compared those two plus an American Special Stratocaster but knowing absolutely nothing about guitars, it was not much help. I also listened to a YouTube video of someone playing both and they both sounded okay to me through my computer speakers...

Is this an okay guitar to learn on? Do any of the features or ergonomics of this particular model make it any more or less difficult to learn on or play than another make or model or type of guitar?

Also, can anyone recommend an amplifier to use with this for home use and learning? Would the Monoprice 15-watt 1x12 tube amp with Celestion speaker and spring reverb be okay?

This is a great guitar, it is pretty much THE standard stratocaster. However I would not get this as a first guitar unless you have lots of money to spare, I would get something that is at least half of this while learning the basics, and then tour some guitar center or other stores to try and feel other brands and models, see what you like best. Try a gibson, try a PRS, try other fenders, then you can pull the trigger on a guitar you actually know and love. A guitar needs maintenance and dedication, even if you just like collecting them, they need setup and care. About the amp, depends on what you want to play, but if you are starting to learn get something with good clean tones so you can actually listen to what you are doing. There will always be more gear, newer stuff and sales going on...
