PSA: Just be wary that a lot of children's shoes may contain a layer of felt-like material on the sole. This creates a slippery surface and may make slips and falls more prevalent, especially on playgrounds and other surfaces. It has to do with $$ of course. Shoes imported from China are considered slippers if they put felt on the soles and therefore are subject to less tariffs. Companies then advertise them as shoes anyway. Not saying this shoe has felt on the sole, but the majority of children's shoes from China contain felt on the soles.

I had to check my child's shoes and sure enough, 5 of the 6 pairs of shoes he has contain felt soles. I never thought to check the soles for felt and assumed they were rubber as, I was always more concerned about the fit.

A minimum of 5 out of every 10 pairs of toddler shoes sold at Walmart contain felt soles (just my observation).

Looking back, I remember seeing him slip/lose balance/fall wearing the shoes with felt when he was younger climbing and running on the playground, before I knew about this.

Now it all makes sense.

Since then I always double check the soles of shoes before buying.

Buyer beware.

I have not seen felt on toddler shoes from more expensive brands like stride-rite and columbia, etc.

If you click on the reviews it says at the end of the review that it was collected as part of a promotion, and it seems that all of them that say carters on them are that way.

My kid used these shoes.... She had no complaints about them. Good quality, comfy, and it lasted a good while 👍. (Stride rite made 2 play)
