Intel Core i7-8700 Coffee Lake 3.2GHz / 4.6GHz Turbo $289 FS ($242 in-store)

$289.00
+23 Deal Score

The lowest yet for this CPU (promo code typically valid after 2AM PDT Sunday). No one is matching Fry's prices on Intel CPUs.

https://www.frys.com/product/9339750

# of Cores: 6
# of Threads: 12
Processor Base Frequency: 3.20 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency: 4.60 GHz
Cache: 12 MB
Bus Speed: 8 GT/s DMI3
TDP: 65 W

Price $269 with emailed code for Sunday (or use 2288).

Edited to add: There is some confusion in the ad pricing. It is possible that the above promo code is applicable in store only. See the item in the current flyer at
https://images.frys.com/art/email...n_pop.html

In-store customers can ask for an additional 10-20% off coupon (10% on bare processors) at the entrance until end of Monday.
http://images.frys.com/art/email/...riweb.html
With the additional 10% off, final price $242 in store.

Note: Some store managers may balk at stacking the above promos together but eventually do it. Bought a Denon X3500H Receiver for $400 yesterday stacking the two promos. Sodid everyone else posting in that thread. Not a one-of.

Apple is literally a competitor, in some regards, to Intel. This is an opportunity to throw a shot at then in the name of "safety" or "risk". Don't buy into what Apple says. Follow the money.
Microsoft is also saying the same thing. Google disables HT in chrome OS. Are they also competitors?

Not blown out of proportion at all. Some systems are being hit with as much as a 40% performance loss to protect themselves. Apple is telling everyone to disable HT. Do you think thats for no reason?

If you go to untrusted website and run untrusted code anyway you're doomed.

Apple specifies that users with "computers at heightened risk or who run untrusted software on their Mac" ("untrusted: may mean applications unavailable in the Mac App Store) can optionally disable hyper-threading

I have added a clarification in OP along with a link to the sales flyer where the deal is listed. It would appear the $269 with promo code is available in store only. Not for shipping. I have updated the subject and text of OP accordingly.

I belive the promo code is the unique code emailed to subscribers.

The title of this deal is pretty misleading though. It's highly ymmv to (i) get the 10% promo instore and (ii) have someone willing to apply discount in combination with the promo code. I realize OP was able to do this in the past but it won't be true for everyone.
I have updated the OP with additional information on the code being applicable in store along with a link to their ad flyer.

For the additional discount, no one has been refused which you can read in the Denon thread. Used as recently as yesterday. It would be a YMMV if getting that additional discount was an exception rather than reality. I added that clarification, so people IF they find some pushback can be confident about insisting on it rather than go away.

Besides even using that additional 10% off coupon available at the store on the advertised non promo code price of $289 would bring it down to $270 which is still an unmatched deal.

I was at the San Jose location off of Brokaw Fry's. They had an issue, but took 10% first then the $20 off for the promo code afterwards. Not sure why that was the only method, but I saved another $1.

So after (everyone's favorite) California tax - $262.31 Big Grin

Thanks!

Oh heads up! I got the last one from the Brokaw location! Not sure if the other San Jose and Fremont locations have any left.

Please ignore the obnoxious AMD FanBoys, that show up in every Intel CPU thread here.

Apple has been very close friends with Intel for over a decade and a half now, so I'm not sure where you're getting that. Apple's loyalty has to go to it's customers and profits first, though.

Someone on the Denon X3500H thread posted the receipt where they took off 20% coupon off first on the full price of $1000 and then the $500 off for the promo. That is saving $100 more because of the method! One doesn't always get so lucky.

There seems to be plenty in stock everywhere.

LOL Apple is a competitor to Intel. I think you mean... Microsoft...

Apple mac hardware runs on Intel, why would they advise people to fix HT on Intel platforms? Cause the Macs run on them...
