does this have that "easy scratching" issue like the z2 force/play series?
The z2 force had the shatterproof screen but it was more prone to scratches vs regular gorilla glass. I put a flexible tempered glass screen protector on and that solved the problem and my screen is still shatterproof.

The moto z3 doesn't have shatterproof screen. It uses the regular gorilla glass.

The Z3 and Z2 Play do not have the plastic shatterproof display ('Shattershield') that the 2016 Z Force and 2017 Z2 Force have. While it had the upside of not cracking/breaking when dropped, the plastic screen had the downside of being easily scratched without a screen protector installed on those devices.

EDIT: Looks like others were typing up replies around the same time Wink

Ah man, I got it for $5 dollars a month for 24 months with verizon bill credits on black friday. Always prefer the 1 time payment. Very happy with the phone, got 3 of them for all family members. Can't beat this phone for that price.

Also added Gcam apk. Takes much better pictures with the google camera app.

can you point to where you got the gcam app from? is it stable and as fast as normal camera app? is the camera any better than the meh reviews on earlier models?

Wait this is better than Moto z2 force right for same price? Or no?
I got the Moto Z2 Force and it is an awesome phone. I also have the latest Pixel 3a and I love both phones. I can't even pick a favorite because their pros are so different. I don't have the Moto Z3 but I can tell you that the Moto Z2 Force (835 processor) is similar to the Moto Z3 (835 processor). The internals are almost identical. Here are some differences.

Screen? Z2 Force is 5.5" quadHD 16:9 and Moto Z3 is 6.1" 1080p 18:9.
Screen type? Z2 Force is shattershield and Moto Z3 is gorilla glass. Put a screen protector on both screens.
Finger print sensor? Z2 Force is on bottom front and Moto Z3 is on the side.
Battery life? Z2 Force is 2730 mAh and Moto Z3 is 3000 mAh. I got solid battery life on my Z2 Force and sometimes 6 hours screen time but I would assume Moto Z3 would have better battery life due to 1080p and larger battery size.
Front camera? Z2 Force is 5mp and Moto Z3 is 8mp.
Updates? Z2 Force will get Pie and won't get many more security updates anymore. Moto Z3 will get Pie and "Q" and will get more security updates.
Build? Z2 Force has aluminum rear and Moto Z3 has gorilla glass rear.

Everything else is pretty much similar. You can't go wrong with either phone.

Great deal for a Verizon Z3. This is a Verizon Z3 with the Verizon quirks and although unlocked, does not interact nicely with non-Verizon carriers - you need to change settings, etc. to make it work. For those that want a seamless experience between various carriers, a Google Pixel may be a better option (albeit more expensive).
That's not true at all. I have t-mobile and just popped my Sim in. No problem

I used this site
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/file...suggested/

Unfortunately the app doesn't tell me what version I have and I don't remember. Its def google camera 6 and BSG mod though. I tried two and they crashed right away. The third worked and I have been using it for a couple months. It does crash very rarely but its not big deal to just reopen the app. Its just a fast. Has some more features. And best of all I think it takes better pictures. You can leave Moto camera app as well. Takes some side by side and see if you like it.

can I $120 use the
- one-time payment (select 'Activate Today') + $40 Activation/Upgrade Fee = $160 + tax

then call and cancel the account right away? do I need to pay the $40 activation fee?

Thanks OP
Looking for those with prior experience to chime in on this question too.. basically can a new customer activate this phone and then cancel? Would the activation fee be refunded? Thanks

thanks. will try the Arnova one first and if any issues then the BSG one you are using. I have the Arnova one on my G7 but its slow & buggy as hell. not worth the hassle.

I had the gcam app and it actually took better pictures but the difference wasn't that much. The regular camera app felt more polished and I prefer the interface. I remember someone who referred the app to me said the video could get buggy. I deleted the gcam app. Maybe I will give it a try again but it is unnecessary.... The Motorola z2 Force camera takes really good pictures and the Moto Z3 will to. It is a big improvement over the Moto Play cameras and really right just a smidge below the expensive premium phones but beats others like OnePlus and older premium flagships. The earlier bad reviews on Moto Z2 Force camera was more due to being a very expensive phone and being compared to other real expensive flagship phones on day 1. If one is paying $100-$250 on a phone, you have to take that in account and not quite expect $750 phone camera quality but the Moto Z2 Force & Z3 takes very good pictures. I hate when I watch a youtube review and the reviewer automatically compares and almost expects the camera to be as good as $1000 phones.
