Great price for a top of line card.
These cards are completely overpriced even at huge discounts like this

you are correct, these cards should not be any more than 800$, but because there are people who has money to burn would pay any price they throw at them, and therefore prices are so high.

there's also not enough competition at the moment.

Lack of real competition from AMD pretty much let Nvidia charge as much as they want.

Ppl pay 1k for a phone. $900 for a GPU that will last much longer than a phone isn't that bad.
if NE was still tax free for NY, o would had jump on this. oh well.

At the moment this is the best deal for a TI so if you're in the market, this is a good option.

go get a better job. problem solved.
And then next generation they raise the prices again...

I certainly have a good job and could buy several of these right now. I will wait until either the next generation is released or the price comes down enough to justify an upgrade. I use a GTX 1080ti and this card is 20-25% faster for double the money over what I paid.
Not worth it.

Do these "open box" items have any warranty? So....these all probably express the defects right?

They have warranty, but in my experience open box is very risky that's why they drop the price so much. If you don't mind the hassle of doing RMA go for it
