According to the Q&A, "It is not recommended to use this light in any rain."

The unit does have open vent holes that would allow moisture in.

Anyone have this? How far can it throw a beam in a field?

edit: Found some good pics in the reviews, this is tempting

I bought this for $99 in April. It's an awesome light. It's like a combination of a flood light with very long throw as well. Wish I has got this for $59. This light is NOT waterproof.

Tempted. Already have the Ryobi P717 Spotlight [homedepot.com] that has 7 LEDs and over 2500 lumens.

But I like the variable control of the Ridgid, to match the light output with my needs. And the rotating head.

Do you have direct experience with the "NOT waterproof" aspect? Just curious. While I wouldn't expect complete waterproofness it'd be nice to know if it's super sensitive to any moisture or something.

Grabbed one just because I have so many RIDGID batteries now with the recent deal on the Octane batteries...probably don't really need it but will be taking a multi-state road trip later this year in an RV so might be useful then.

Same thing here. Got the batteries from that great sale, and now need Ridgid tools to use them.

Keep an eye out for the battery + "free" bare tool combo deals. You can buy the combo then return the battery/charger and end up with bare tools near half off. It's how if been expanding on my basic impact/drill kit.

Thank you so much! Using the Ryobi trick, I was able to get the Ridgid 1/2" impact wrench for $81!

Does that work for the current BOGO Octane Promotion? The tool shows up as a 'bonus' and I don't see the price broken down and prorated in the cart as it was for the Octane battery deal.

with the battery set, yeah. you have to add them separately to the cart to see the price breakdown.
