Just FYI, sold by Gameliquidations (as like the other recent LG TV deals on Neweggflash)

Is the C9 a significant improvement over the C8?

From a PQ standpoint, no--the two sets perform very similarly.

But from a technology standpoint, it represents a fairly substantial upgrade. It has HDMI 2.1, which allows for much higher bandwidth (4K120 at 4:4:4 with HDR, for example). It should theoretically be a "future-proof" TV, but given how far away we are from 4K120 media, it's hard to say how important the inclusion of HDMI 2.1 will be.

Aggressive pricing on this model. I sure wouldn't want to buy an expensive and temperamental oled without a 1 year cushion but it's a good sign of pricing to come.

If only they didn't cut the improved black frame insertion at the last second. That could have been a key component in improving motion for many people

True. The panel itself is being carried over from 2018 according to LG.

The c9 new features would be really beneficial for people connecting to a PC. This is the first generation with native support for 120hz at both 1080p and 1440p. Iirc the last gen only had 1080p @120hz. Upgrading from another OLED wouldn't be worth the money but it's something to ponder if you want a new TV anyway.

I think they totally removed the live zoom (magic remote controlled magnifying glass) feature from 2018 and earlier models. I guess not enough people used it, but it's still lame that they removed it.

I was hoping the BFI on this newer model would operate in a factor divisible by 24 but that unfortunately does not appear to be the case :/

Also, GameLiquidations and Newegg arent authorized dealers, so they may not honor the 1 year warranty.

how many times does this BS need to be debunked before people stop repeating it?

LGs actual warranty does not care if the dealer is authorized or not- no matter what the scare language on a website tells you.

Can you please elaborate? I haven't heard this.

In order to submit a warranty request on LG's support site, you need to provide a serial number and a proof of purchase.

Have you been able to get warranty support after buying from unauthorized dealer?

I hear what you and many others are saying. Can you clarify for me why, then, deals from discount websites for the same TVs are not posted?

For example, this same tv is available for $2299: https://www.vonstv.com/LG-OLED65C...inQ/p-1165

Not trying to be a troll or anything. I am genuinely curious about this.
