Be aware the trimmer in this bundle isn't as good as the 40V model that can take different attachments.

it doesnt look like the battery included in this kit works with other non gardening tools ... like the impact drill etc..?
was tempted to buy but thats a foolish alteration from Ryobi

Don't knock it until you've tried it! Smilie The truth if the matter is 40V for typical hand tools is totally unnecessary, but 18V for most yard tools is way underpowered -- hence the need for another line of batteries/tools. If you have a small yard (like about 2/10s of an acre) then the 18V might suffice -- especially if you got the brushless yard tools.

The 4ah battery + charger is the high-lite of this package. OEM batteries from authorized Dealers are selling batteries + charger for this much. You aren't paying too much if anything for the trimmer and blower. For a small lot with no wet winter leaves to deal with this might be passable. You probably can make money selling the trimmer and blower as bare tools on CL.(over and above what the battery and charger go for by themselves)

Found my Home Depot had the hedge trimmer available, but as my Expand It capable string trimmer has a broken wing nut / bolt (the one that secures the attachments), I've been too lazy to look into obtaining a replacement, and their current gen (gen 3?) trimmer comes with a *4Ah* battery and charger for $159 (the 4Ah battery goes for something like $20 or $30 more), I decided I'd just get the trimmer instead, then sell off my old one... lol

I dont mind the 40v and 4h features of it
its just that the way the battery is designed, it can only be used for their gardening tools..!!
my issue with it is that say... it wont click into my Ryobi drill or other tools ..!! but yea
still a fantastic deal..!

I totally get the 18 tools and 40 volt yard. Bought the 40v lawnmower with 5 ah battery. This deal would provide a 4 ah spare/extra and 2 other yard tools. I'm already heavily invested in 18 volt tools, and upgrading with ++ ah and brushless. If anything I have too many chargers lol. ALL backward compatible.

Is there a UPC or model # for that trimmer?

How's Ryobi compared to dewalt and ego brands? Is this an ok deal or comparable with the dewalt deal?

In for 1.

Looks like the battery + charger alone run about $150 on Amazon.
