I think spending $80 is justified to double the storage capacity, considering iPad has non expandable Storage.

Just curious did you use "payboo" or did you just pay the tax? It's so hard for me to buy anything on B&H since they started collecting tax

Is an almost 2 year old iPad a good value? I've been seeing these and am considering it.

They are the best value and if you check the reviews, most of them suggested not to upgrade to the 2018 model if you have this one. The Processor on this is still plenty powerful actually better than latest Qualcom chips in Android based devices.

The new iPad pro is better looking, Slimmer and extremely powerful but there is no real use cases where Apps can leverage that strong Processing Power since it still runs a Tablet OS and the Apps are Stripped down versions compared to their Desktop OS versions. Apple is working with some App developers to provide full fledged version for iOS devices so that they can leverage the Processing power but that is still far from reality and when it will be stream line, probably the next iPad Pro will come out.

If you're planning on doing programming/development, probably not. My understanding is the Pros are very capable for art/design and other types of work but you would probably want a Windows machine for development. A Surface Pro maybe, or I think there are some Chromebooks that can do Linux stuff now.

I have this model in the Space Gray 256GB. Purchased refurbished from Apple for about the same price as this. Looks and runs brand new. I've read to many complaints with the latest models and see no reason to upgrade.
