This looks to be basically the same as the Seagate 8TB Backup Plus Hub external. https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Ex...way&sr=8-3
I'd say this is a solid deal.

I work in data recover company and you know guys, Seagate are worst drives ever. Sometimes they even don't work out of box. WD (Hitachi), Toshiba and even Samsung (they are actually seagate too but quality is much more better) are much more reliable.

Outside of some notably unreliable 4TB drives, Seagates have reliability in line with everybody else according to Backblaze:
https://www.backblaze.com/blog/ha...-for-2018/

The last chart of that article shows that Seagates represent 75% of Backblaze's active drives from 2013 to 2018. If that's representative of market share, then it would make sense that you see a lot more Seagates than other drives. That doesn't mean they're less reliable.

FWIW about a week ago numerous people on reddit said their Seagate hard drives they were using on xbox just stopped working. Other brands were still good but Seagate died. Mine did as well a couple days later.

This would've helped me last year when I was shopping for external storage for my Xbox One X:

Those of you who aren't sure how big of a drive you'll need to store all your Xbox games, listen up.

I bought an 8 TB hard drive for my Xbox One X last year. Since then, I've loaded it with 60+ full games including 3 Battlefield's, all of the Call of Duty Series, and a bunch of other graphic intense, high data storage games.

As of right now, I'm sitting at 26% capacity used.

So unless you plan on loading 250+ high data games onto your storage device, you'd be better off spending less on a 2-4 TB drive.

A 4 TB WD or Seagate is very close to $100. Why not spend the extra $30 for double the capacity? I'm all for saving money, but I bit this time.

That's because you have to throw them into the ocean in order for the transistors to work.
That's why its called "Sea Gate."
Gate as in transistor. What, you thought that Gate meant a scandal? Only in America...and some countries with pigs.
Seek mental help.

I've had three of these external Seagate drives fail on me. It's only anecdotal, I know, but I loathe Seagate and the trouble they've brought me. OTOH, I have a series of WD externals still going strong after five plus of power on time.

Please note, this is NOT a portable drive. It requires AC Power.
