This was the price of the Link 10 few weeks ago so this is much better deal and waterproof.

ONLY probably I got with this device is the start up lagg. You'll be 10 secs into the song and its "on" music/sound will interrupt

I wish this had a clock like my Insignia!!! My friend loves my Insignia speaker and was trying to buy one but they've been discontinued. Would love to buy this and gift her my Insignia but then I'd be without a clock (unless I ask hey google what time is it, but that's always embarrassing to do with tech-hating roommates around).

Grabbed one for the backyard this summer. Sure I'll find other uses as well. Thanks

Here's a good review on five comparable speakers from a good site;

Nice info. Apparently the Sony XB-20 units I got on clearance at Wallyworld blow this out of the water. I just wish they weren't blue. The $50 is staying in my wallet.

jbl is a well respected brand in a portfolio of audiophile brands. it's not top tier by any means, but it's very good. insignia is a big box house brand.

I have two link 10s, two 20s and the 300 and they all punch above their weight class
He is asking about JBL Link 20 and Insignia XYZ comparison, not brand comparison.
Should I buy a Sony phone maybe ? Or Sony boombox for 3 times it's realistic price ?

it was a round about way to say that it's an apples to oranges comparison. anything from jbl is going to be better than the best insignia over put out

I just purchased one of these refurbs which I now need to return. Apparently a lot of these units just decide to stop responding to Google Assistant commands. You press the button on the top the four lights blink but the thing does not respond to anything you say. It is good sounding Bluetooth speaker for its size. I also had a problem where once I could not shut the speaker off and it wasn't even working as a Bluetooth speaker. I had to let it sit for a night until the battery ran all the way down. Search the internet there are a lot of problems with these speakers. It's a shame because they sound good. I have a link 300 which I really like the bass on that thing is incredible for such a small speaker. If you're going to dive into this make sure that you have a way to return it if you get a lemon. There is a good chance that the refurbs are from people who bought the thing at Best buy took it home found it not to work as described with Google Assistant and returned it. Then some idiot at JBL Boot it up and finds it boots and says now it's refurbished. It is unclear if the non responding issue is hardware or software.

I've had two JBL Link 20's for more than a year and both have been great. Initially, some Google Assistant features and updates lagged on non-Google hardware like these but now they are updated at the same time it seems. Sound is very good and I originally bought them based on a lot of YouTube reviews comparing to Google Home. They sound very good for their size and take them outside all the time for music on the patio.

Mine are not refurbs but if the warranty is good I would jump on $50.

The 300's sounds great-yes Big Grin!

Too bad I had to return the two I ordered from the last deal :/... since they wouldn't do stereo pair, oh and also anything i found on resetting them--did nothing @_@'' (factory reset)

Had to return them.,.and now I'm dealing with them only refunding 1/2 of the speaker ~.~'
What? 1/2? How did they decide that?

The JBL 10 is supposed to be underwhelming. Everything I've read says get the JBL 20 or above.
