HOT TIP. Place your charging base where you ultimately want it to be. Close all doors to extra rooms, if you have huge spaces without doors, block off the hallway so it thinks there's a wall there. Allow it to complete the mapping of your "house." Let it recharge, place any artifical no go spaces in the app. Open one or a couple new doors and run it again. It'll detect the new spaces and add them to the map each time. Pain in the ass, but only have to do the process once.

My house is 2200sqft, but I can close it off to an initial space of about half that. Robo maps it with shit tons of battery life left.

Additional pro tip: remove the brushes for the initial mapping. It doubles the battery life.

erm. The D5 and D6 are pretty much exactly the same lol. Same with the whole D-series line up. It's just brushes, filter and battery difference, while overall they're the same machine.

The D6 has a better battery so longer runtime than the d5. The D3/4/5 has the combo brush while the D6/7 has the spiral combo brush. D5-7 all have the same "ultra performance filter" as well.

D6 also gets manual controls through the app.

Waiting on the Neato D5 deal. Is it worth it to pay a little extra for this one, or should I just wait for the D5?

Why do you want the D5? I mean, I have one and like it. But I'd much rather have the D6 for this price.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VDj-SjxjvI that video says the Roborock is close or beats the D7. So I guess Roborock is better?

I've always been a big fan of Neato over Roomba but after getting a Roborock, there's no comparison.

Where are you getting that info? To my knowledge, none of that is true. For instance, here are the filters for this, an other, D series: https://www.neatorobotics.com/acc...ce-filter/

There's nothing about the D6 that would make it unsuitable for "all floors." And what is "pet approved?"

Also, the D6 has a larger capacity battery and reportedly bigger cleaning brushes.

Rewatch the video, it clearly picked the Neato as the winner.

The D6 is basically the updated version of the D5. Just a better battery! You can buy a variety of brushes for whatever it is that your vacuuming. I have the blade brush and the combo brush for my D5 and i highly recommend switching off. Each brush had its own strength.

For what it's worth, the tom's guide review indicates vacuum performance of that Roborock is considerably worse than Neato D7, which should perform very close to the D6.

I got the D5 on the best buy deal months back, we love it. I wish you could schedule a single, one time cleaning, that's just software though, maybe one day. If the D6 has remote control via app, then that is awesome. I heard it was removed from the app for all D# vacuums, but maybe I was misinformed. The larger battery in the D6 makes it the clear winner, since there are minimal changes otherwise between 5 and 6. I would still recommend the 5 over 6 based on cost effectiveness (given they are equivalently discounted). Looks like a decent deal on the 6, but I wouldn't bite at this price point.
