The El Primero movement in this Zenith was used by Rolex in their Daytona before they built their own in-house movement.

The current problem with Rolex is people who know nothing about watches buy Rolex to impress. Sad because they are good watches. If you really want to impress, see Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet
Why would you name the big 3 in a Slickdeals thread? Those are watches only the 1% can buy and watches 99.99% of Slickdeals users have no idea about. Rolex is definitely the watch to get if you simply want to impress people, everyone knows the brand and your net worth doesn't have to be in the millions to own 1, like the big 3. I like some zenith watches but you're really not going to impress anyone with one.

Why do people on here figure that every slickdealer is a poor college student buying walmart clearance to sell on ebay? There are lots of slickdealers who are doing very well for themselves. Personally I have probably bought 10-15 different high end watches I have seen at slickdeals......Applause

Great deal but zenith local service center has terrible rep. Went with an Omega instead.

You buy a Rolex to show off to people that can't afford luxury-watches.
You buy this because you like the brand and model.
People that can afford a luxury watch will know what it is
Rolex is so much more than just the most recognizable brand in watches. There are many reputable watch makers and CEO's of watch companies that testify to Rolex as a hell of a value purchase. They are meticulous in their work.

I never comment or reply but I feel I must. More then one person mentioned the Rolex Daytona!
Here is a little FYI.

The Rolex Daytona Ref 16520 was released in 1988, it contained a modified Zenith El Primero movement.

Yes it did!!!

By the time Rolex had finished with it, Zenith's El Primero had become Rolex's Cal. 4030—and the Daytona had become a true legend among timepieces.

At that time, the Zenith El Primero movement was the ONLY movement being made that was considered of high enough quality for Rolex to even consider using it, even with them modifying the movement.

It would then take 11 more years, five of which it took Rolex to develop the new movement for their Daytona. For the new millennium Rolex introduced the ref. 116520, the FIRST ALL ROLEX DAYTONA it contained the cal. 4130 which also was first new movement Rolex had, designed and manufactured in the past 50 years.

It was only then that Rolex stopped making the Daytona with a modified Zenith movement...

I am very sure about this as I have owned every stainless steel variation of the Daytona since 1981.

If you really want to see how absolutely sought after the Zenith Daytona is, just take a look and see what a pre owned model is selling for today, I think many would be more then surprised.

Thanks for your time.

I'm salivating over this!!! Can't justify another El Primero so soon (got a rainbow one few years ago). Excellent price on this piece.

Deal Breaker , JomaFlop. Do your due diligence and research all the customer service (or lack thereof) issues and defective/distressed merchandise. Caveat Emptor.

My main concern is what are your maintenance or repair options once the JomaShop warranty is expired?

These do not have a manufacturers warranty, so we would not be able to send it back to Zenith for repairs.

Why don't we start posting deals on yatchs and helicopters? I've been coming to Slickdeals since 2004 and don't understand why this is being posted at all, and I appreciate a good watch. Luxury goods that number in the thousands of dollars are not the target audience for this website.
Some people started coming here when they were high school students with an allowance. Some have worked hard and made a good living and can buy whatever they want...yet still appreciate a good deal.

The misconception that only poor people NEED to come to SD is a mentality of poor people. Those that would stop looking for good deals when they have two nickels to rub together will always NEED to come to SD.

I like the look of Tissot but in that league a Hamilton is a better buy and more respected.
I was joking... though I prefer Tissot to Hamilton.😀
