Recently stayed 28 nights under one reservation. They changed my card every 7 nights and that ended up counting as 4 stays.

Not sure, but for my Marriott promotions, they would occasionally have a requirement 5 stays in a 60 day period, and if I had a business trip that was 3 nights, I changed Marriott properties every night. A little bit of a hassle, but that particular promotion was really generous, so it was worth it.

Unless they do something special for you, a stay requires a change in property. Number of nights does not matter. So if you are looking for stays, look for two Hilton properties near each other and check into a new property each day.

A side benefit is you will get extra points/welcome gift for each stay. Besides having to check in and out each day, a disadvantage is trying to remember your hotel room number.

Not sure whether the extra points is worth the higher rate you have to pay.
Booked DoubletTree in Disney Springs in April for this memorial days, with their long weekender promotion, turns out $532 total for a 1 bdr suite for 3 days(Friday~Monday).

Just tried booking the same room with same date, total was $736 for 2X points.
Tried booking from Doubletree, total was $588.

So, you pay $200 more to get 1X points for a 3-day stay. Not for me though. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Although I had a prior reservation, made through HotelStorm, for a 3-night stay in New Orleans, I tried to see what the rates would be at the same hotel through the Hilton Honors portal. The room that I reserved about two weeks in advance was available for $149 per night through HotelStorm. At this time, with only three days to go, HotelStorm's rate is $179. The Hiltons Honors site rate is $232. (That amounts to a $159 difference over three nights).

I am not sure if the double points benefit exceeds the cost savings. Just wondering.
