C8 for $1800 or E8 for $1999?
Sound is better on the OLED E8 and has the glass which looks cool.
Worth $200 more?
Comparing the retail prices this is a much bigger savings.

My dad just dropped a bomb wants a nice TV for Father's day from the sons! I'm comparing oled65e8 65q9 and Sony new one 65x950g . This deal looks juicy 👌 Any advice would be much appreciated. He can't hear well so I was thinking e8 over c8 and has the picture on glass .

If you have a surround sound setup, get the C. Otherwise, the E.

If you have a bright room, it might be one more reason to get the C. I thought I read that some people have had glare issues with the E. But take that with a grain of salt.

My Dad watches CNBC and other news networks with tickers on the bottom all. day. long. That's the only situation where I'd never recommend OLED. So if he's like my Dad, don't do it. Otherwise prepare to win Father's Day Applause

So interestingly I went to local best buy to have a look at the oledc8p and the e8 and the glass isn't in front of the screen it's a decorative glass on bezel . So the glass doesn't cause a glare as far as I see .

Same set other than the back bezel being different material, and the E having a built in non-removable soundbar.

Personally I'd get the C and use my surround sound system- if you don't have one I'd probably still get the C and put the $200 toward a better soundbar than what the E comes with.

Sounds like they went to the same school 😂. My ma says he wants oled I was worried about burn in. They say that issue is corrected now in BB. I'm biting the bullet let you know how FD goes .

I had originally gotten a c7, but it had a burn in, so I got an e8 that also had burn in, but LG replaced the screen on that one which was a floor model from BB. Anyway, the screen between the C8 and E8 is the same, the glass is behind the screen. The glass is useful for only carrying and moving the TV. The C screen without the glass is flimsy and bendable. I would guess that if you are going to buy a TV for this much money you want a soundbar, so I wouldn't be much concerned about the internal speakers.

So E8 for glass sturdiness or C8 for no glass and danger of bending your screen.

Got this TV right before the Super Bowl. This is a great TV and no regrets on making the purchase. At this price, it's a steal. They were going for just under $4K when they were released.

Anyone in the NM area and looking for a 65" OLED let me know. C8 but would be a good deal cheaper than this one

If you think the $200 would benefit your sound situation I would go for the C8

I had a similar scenario last year. I went with the E7 because I thought it looked better
$200 would not have made a difference in my sound set up in the room I use as a home theater room
It would have taken much more than than that

I figured the Tv had a 3-4 year shelf life, for me, so I thought it was worth the $50-75 a year to me to have something that looked better in place

The "soundbar" isn't present on the E series beginning with the 2018 models.
