I would get the 2600 for $40 more and OC all cores to at least boost speed. Basically 2 more cores at about the same speed as the 1500x for $40

Get another 8gb memory of the same model and OC to 2933. Take advabtage of dual channel ram and Ryzen benefits a lot with 2933+ ram

After $80ish of upgrading and OCing assuming you can overclock (i have no idea) it would be significantly better

Do these HPs even allow overclocking?

Extra 8GB of RAM is $150. What a rip-off when you can buy 16GB of 3000 DDR4 for $64 these days.

I feel like the Dell desktop which is still available from costco is way better. https://slickdeals.net/f/13085845-costco-dell-inspiron-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-2700x-radeon-rx-580-699-99?src=SiteSearch

For cheaper, you get 16gb of RAM, 256gb SSD + 1 TB HDD, and a MUCH better processor. Yes you get a little better of a graphics card here, but the other one is good out of the box. This one you'll definitely need to upgrade the RAM and storage.

The 1660ti is like 50% more powerful than an rx580

It's like 30% better: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com...4037vs3923

And the 2700x is around 75% better than a 2500x so I think my argument still stands.

Nice I actually bought the ryzen 2600x version of that (everything else the same except the motherboard). I chose the ryzen for more cores, and the possibility that I could upgrade the processor in the future (I bought more for video editing than gaming).

I'm glad I bought it cause I got an extra month of use out of it, but if I was buying now I would get the dell deal I posted above.
