Noob here, Ive a small home theater in my basement- about 20x20 area 2/3 finished. What would be better: 2 Klipsch R-120's or a single PB-1000 or PB-2000? I already have a single R-120SW, I was thinking of getting another when they kiss $200-ish OR I can move into the SVS direction....

TIA
Always go dual subs, regardless of the brand. Then find the brand that fits your budget. Of course PB-2000 will sound amazing but it has been proven by many experts that dual subs & and position of the subs is the way to go with a HT setup.

Hsu gives more bang for your buck, and they are tunable for multi use.

Sincerely an audiophile.

Hsu vtf15h mk2 which trades blows with the SB 16 ultra will be $849 for Memorial Day sale.
Might have got a dud, but I had a HSU in which the amp died a couple months after the warranty expired. It was sweet until it died.

Bought a SVS to replace it and, to me, they are very similar. SVS had been going strong for 5+ years now.

I read about this in multiple places and hsu warranty on amp is just 2 years . My amp on klipsch 112sw died after 2 years . Heard a lot of negative things about bash amps which klipsch and hsu have . Just got the pb12-nsd purely for the 5 year warranty.

The vtf 15h mk2 is a monster of a deal for $849 nothing is going to touch it in that price range... nothing touches it it's normal price as is,
But yeah people do get lemons from all company's, or svs wouldn't have so much B stock,
Not knocking SVS their subs and customer service are top notch,
Just saying you get a lot more for your money from Hsu.

i think the b stock would be due to their fantastic free return policy. nobody else comes closer to that. but regarding hsu i have always heard great things. wish they have a 5 year warranty on amp. the replacement amp cost is around 300 i believe . in the end both are great companies.

Yes I have a 2 Hsu vtf15h mk2s in a 7.2.4 atmos, last week was watching San Andreas in atmos and the vibrations shook the chimney loose and knocked a lamp off an end table lol.
They were upgrades from 2 PB 2000s

I already have the pb4000, but these deals are great. That is how I got my last one. The sb16 is nice as well. Got a chance to check them out at magnoilia. It is huge for a seal sub. Looks sleek and very nice in piano black.

Shipping on the VTF-15h is an additional $173. Plus it weighs 110lbs. The SVS' are all free shipping.

Still about $400 cheaper then the ultra for competitive performance when compared. What's the problem here?

I'm intrigued but $173 in shipping is an issue, especially when an SB-4000 is $1,099 and an SB-16 is $1,399, both with free shipping.

Anyway to avoid the shipping? (without visiting Anaheim)

Would I see a jump moving from 2 PB12-NSD to 2 SB-2000? My theater room is still eating up the two PB12s.
whats your plan for the pb12s?

Contact them, the Hsu performs similar to the 16 ultra, so you would be saving $400 svs has a better warranty,
But in the audiophile groups all the reviewers hail the Hsu vtf15h mk2.
Most reviewers do a compare of the 16 ultra vs the vtf15h mk2 and the winner between the two in performance is split down the middle, but the vtf15h is much less expensive.

The pb4000 is fairly new and I have not read many reviews on it yet.
A good choice would be to head over to the audioholics forum and make a post asking which is better, most of the reviewers who have the equipment and done the tests reply there,
A fella named snakeyes is very knowledgeable on subwoofers.

Ive checked several cheaper models/brands, and they are 110v only (well, being sold in the US so it is normal i guess).
so far, only this (if it is 220) and klipsch are the only 2 that I have seen so far

I'm certain most modern equipment, if not all, can support 110~220V seamlessly.
