Reminds me of the $1 echo dot from last year

Yep! Definitely can, but it has some caveats. 1.) they have to be on the same network. Some people have multiple networks with Dots connected to different networks in home. If you only have one network (2.4gHz / 5gHz) then you'll be solid, just make sure that both Dots are connected to the same frequency from your router. 2.) Some people say that it doesn't do true stereo, that it just outputs the same audio through both for increased volume output. I haven't tested this myself, so I don't know if this is true or not. I can tell you that the difference between one Dot and two playing the song is noticeably better.

If you read reviews on Amazon regarding the pairing process (especially with the Sub) you'll see a lot of nightmare stories. It must have been very buggy when they first released the pairing capability. When I finally got around to trying it I expected it to be a massive headache but it just worked. Basically just go into your Alexa app and navigate to your devices/Echo's, and then go into the settings for one Dot. It should give you the option to create a Stereo Pair. The output is significantly better. I replaced a Samsung M5 (think SONOS Play:3) with two Dots. They do not sound nearly as good as the Samsung did, but the convenience factor won out for me. I am waiting on a slickdeal for the Sub right now to flesh out the music experience. The low end is nearly non-existent with the Dots, but if you've already played music through them, I'm preaching to the choir. Anyway, hope that helps man! If you've got any other questions, or if I can clarify anything, let me know.

Edit - researched the true vs simulated stereo issue and it appears it was a thing at one point but Amazon has rolled out updates that does offer real stereo separation on the Echo's when they're paired.

Pretty slickdeal, though apparently it was lower last year. Regardless, $5.00 is a pretty dang good deal for a pretty useful assistant. Not as good as Google assistant, but good enough in most cases. If you are planning to use for music at all I would strongly suggest figuring out how to get a second one. They sound significantly better paired in stereo and you can always add the Echo Sub at a later date if you want that low end. If I weren't already a member I'd definitely jump on this deal. Thumps up, OP!
