Global Entry is easily one of the best investments you could ever make. But yeah came free with my chase card. However I love it.

Good deal when those days work for you.

BTW, just like what Joe Romano said:

"If you are sad where you are, and then you get on a plane to Italy.
You in Italy the same sad you before, just in a new place."

What do you mean by "the restrictions are lifted?"

They probably mean how you get free checked bags (and I'm betting probably use of the overhead compartments, as well)

Definitely. Amtrak as low as $44, I believe. Much less if you take NJ transit ($13?). $372 total RT from 30th Street Station to EWR. Not bad at all.

Q: Which qualifying MileagePlus credit cards allow the cardmember to bring a full-sized carry-on bag on board?
A: For trans-Atlantic flights, all travelers with a Basic Economy ticket — even those without a MileagePlus credit card — can bring a full-sized carry-on bag on board.

For all other flights, if you are a primary cardmember of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card at the time of check-in and you provided your MileagePlus number when purchasing a Basic Economy ticket, you and travel companions on the same reservation will maintain your boarding priority and be allowed to bring a full-sized carry-on bag on board if space permits. The qualifying MileagePlus credit card must be used to purchase the ticket. Qualifying cards are: MileagePlus Explorer Card, MileagePlus Explorer Business Card, MileagePlus Club Card, MileagePlus Club Business Card, Presidential PlusSM Card, Presidential Plus Business Card, MileagePlus Awards Card, Ixe United Universe Card, and Ixe United Card.

Q: If my MileagePlus credit card qualifies for priority boarding benefits, will those benefits apply on Basic Economy tickets?
A: Yes, if you are a primary cardmember of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card at the time of check-in and you provided your MileagePlus number when purchasing a Basic Economy ticket, you and travel companions on the same reservation will maintain your boarding priority and be allowed to bring a full-sized carry-on bag on board if space permits.

Thanks for the info.

With Basic Economy:

*Seats are assigned prior to boarding. Advance seat assignments may be available for purchase during booking and up until check-in opens. Prices vary based on route and availability and are subject to change. You will not be eligible to purchase Economy Plus® seating or premium cabin upgrades, or recieve Economy Plus subscription benefits. With standard Economy, customers traveling together can choose seats together if open seats are available.

With Economy: Complimentary seat assignments are only offered when available on United and United Express® flights. There may be a charge for Economy seat assignments on our partner airlines.

**First checked bag charge is based on a standard sized bag. MileagePlus® Premier® members, Star Alliance™ Gold members, and qualifying MileagePlus cardmembers who purchase their tickets with their card will receive standard checked bag benefits when checking in with United for flights operated by United or United Express®. Restrictions may apply. For details, visit our Baggage Information page.

***Ticket changes are not allowed. This includes advance and same-day changes, even for Premier members. Fares are nonrefundable.

**** MileagePlus members will earn full Premier qualifying dollars, 50% Premier qualifying miles and 0.5 Premier qualifying segments for each flight, as well as lifetime miles and toward the four-segment minimum.
