Lightning cable has a good price. However, because IPhone, Iwatch and AirPods now has wireless charging function, lightning cable is not necessary any more. Think it twice if it is not a must-have for you.
I ag ree it's not a must-have, but there are many people that need the speed of wired charging. I'm not well-read on the different technologies for wireless charging, but I believe the fastest is still wired charging. For people that use their phones a lot and require multiple charges a day and may not be near a power source for long, a wired charger is still best. Apple still offers fast charging, but I believe it requires a separate cable (TB3-to-Lightning) and an adapter, sold separately, that puts out more than the 5W the standard adapter does.

So, for some, a physical charger is a must-have. Plus, how much does a reliable wireless charger cost? For multiple devices to be charged at once, I think the least expensive option is a $100+ wireless pad. That's 3 wired chargers and cables with faster charging.

Wireless charging is slow. Painfully slow. Not only that, wireless charging = heat up your device >> heat is bad for your battery.

If you want to be happy get a USB C charger. The next best thing is 2.1 Amp charging. For overnight charging 1 amp stock charger.

It takes 4 hours to charge iPhone with wireless charging pad. Not worth it.

I've noticed this too..., I've recently also been putting a warranty claim on a lot of their cables. 3 within the past month. They've even told me they might have had a bad batch of cables and gave me a refund completely.

Several years ago that may have been the case, but most current Qi-certified chargers have overcome the heat issue. My phone is never warm from the wireless charger. The wired USB-C fast charger, on the other hand, heats things up.

Some people worry about charge cycles or battery degradation from keeping the phone fully charged, but technology has overcome these too. It's true that keeping your battery fully charged will degrade it faster, but most phones compensate for this by reporting a battery as "full" and stopping charging when there is still chargeable capacity left.

I don't have a fast wireless charger, so maybe those run hot. All in all though, wireless charging feels like the future.
