The tip seems to have been splitting (like what happens to iPhone chargers)
You know, I've had iPhone chargers for years too and never split a cable. Maybe I should teach a class on cable handling? Big Grin

Geez.... 42% 1 star on Amazon for this. Many are indicating the ones sold on Amazon are knock-offs.

Better off spending a little more dough and getting the tiny Anker PD Atom which uses the newest GaN technology. Provides up to 30W of power and many are using this tiny charger to power their 12" MacBooks.

Specs:
Total output wattage: 30W
Input: 100–240V ~ 1.2A 50–60Hz
Power delivery output: 5V = 3A / 9V = 3A / 15V = 2A / 20V = 1.5A
Size: 1.61 inches x 1.37 inches x 1.49 inches
Weight: 2.2 ounces

See that's the only reason I've mentioned it, I have never had an issue with any other USB-C cable (as I too am careful) and in its defences it was from the first pixel so it's been nearly 3 years? But still, no coincidence that it came with the same Google pixel they had to replace 4 times and is currently under a class action.

Those reviews are for people who bought it from other sellers. This one is sold by Amazon itself.
Amazon sometimes "accidentally" sells counterfeits. Believe me, it has happened.

If you buy name brand charger from amazon and it is not shipped & sold from the vendor that makes it, it is probably fake. Specially if you are getting it for a "good deal"

I buy a lot of tablet/phone/laptop chargers for work and stopped buying name brand chargers on amazon because they always turn out being fake and have a high failure rate, sometimes even damaging the devices.

That's not even a question. It will, assuming you're not getting a fake one, which could end up damaging your phone.

Yup, happened to me. Bought a Samsung SD card, which turned out only outputting about 20% of write speed than what was advertised ...

Picked up my order from Walmart this morning. It's the real deal: Google retail packaging/box.
