Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes have more edges for improved airflow and faster lighting which ensures long burning performance as compared to other brands. These coals for grilling heat quickly and are ready to cook on in about 15-minutes. Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes are made with 100% natural ingredients and real wood to deliver an authentic smoky flavor, the way BBQ should taste.

For the first time ever, I'm passing on Kingsford this year. This is usually $10 for Memorial day, and that's when I do my once a year stock up. This year, HD has "Embers" 20LBx2 packs for $10. Word is that this is really Royal Oak, which is the lump I use for smoking. I like Royal Oak and honestly am not a huge fan of Kingsford, I buy it because once or twice a year, it's cheap.

So, in for 20 bags of Embers this year. Hopefully it's good.

These were $7.99 for a long time. Few years ago, it went to $9.88. Not happy with $12.88. The Royal Oak deal was much better. Lower price and better charcoal.

Agreed they've been 18.6lbs for a while, but usually they're 26¢/lb. These new 20lbs bags are 32¢/lb. I'm sticking with RO from Wally World: https://slickdeals.net/f/13074769-royal-oak-all-natural-hardwood-premium-charcoal-briquettes-18-lb-2-pack-36-lbs-8-88-at-walmart

HD always has an excellent price on Charcoal at the major cookout holidays. This is pretty much their normal holiday sale, but it's the time to stock up for the summer.

These 20lbs 2-packs usually go on sale for $9.88. Bummer that this is $3 higher.

Anybody know if HD ever does deals on Royal Oak? I want to try that one after reading the comments on yesterday's deal at Lowes. If not, I can settle for Kingsford. I only have like 2 bags left.
