Hmm people will complain about the display, weight of the laptop and of course the rebate. Seems like good deal though for $999. Do a 17 inch deal SD haha!!

1080p scales perfectly though, so 4k for video editing/watching, daily productivity, and 1080p for gaming. It's a good pickup assuming the rebate pans out.

The product video says "120hz gsync display", while the configuration options only give you 60hz, or 60hz with gsync. Can anyone clarify what the video means when it says "120hz"?

The 128 GB SSD and GTX 1060 are pain points, but I could live with the 128 GB SSD since I assume it can be easily upgraded. The GTX 1060 however, you're stuck with that for the life of the machine and this has otherwise nice specs and could last for 3 or more years.

So I'm going to pass for now, and wait for a 1080 or 2070 deal, even if it is +$100 or more. It just seems like a better investment in the future.

With my understanding the thunderbolt should allow an upgrade of the graphics card though right?

Don't forget the graphics amp port. You aren't really stuck with the 1060. Also you'll be waiting awhile for a 1080 or 2070 at $1100+ that's more 1660ti price

The enclosure alone would cost almost 1/3 of the cost of this entire machine ($300). But hypothetically you could, I just don't think it makes cost effective sense.
