Just missed the deal on the RF82's from Fry's.

Would the $1199 deal work well with a Sony STR-DN1060 (165W per channel, 7.2)?

These speakers are pretty sensitive so they play well with almost any receiver. The Sony you linked has 7 channels but not sure it supports Dolby atmos.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately no Atmos, and seems like these are really intended for an Atmos receiver, so I'll be skipping this for now.

finally pulled the trigger. what receivers should i be looking at to pair this set with?
You just bought 9 channels so 9.2 receiver minimum to take full advantage of what you bought including atmos decoding since your towers have it. Look for something with enough hdmi inputs as devices you intend to connect now and future proof it with a couple more. At this point might as well go 4k UHD passthrough so you avoid wanting to upgrade. Then depends on what you want personally. Intend to hook up another zone? Lots of things you can do with another zone....like outdoor speakers that mimic the setup sound or play it's own music all together. Then 2 or 3 zone outputs are something to consider as well as bluetooth and wireless capabilities. Some people need a specific watts per channel but that isn't as important as impedance imo when hooking up multiple speakers to the same channel. For me I looked really high end and went down from there skipping what I thought was overkill/wouldn't use and what I gave myself as a budget. Brand is preference but the big ones are denon, onkyo, yamaha to name the popular.

Question for those monitoring all the Klipsch deals over the last few weeks. I'm looking for the best deal for a Klipsch package with no receiver. Would this be the one? (Leaning towards the $1449 one)
I have been waiting for a non-receiver package deal thats not based on the most basic 610s and can not think of one that beat this. Yes, if you have a Frys near by you can string together a better set but nearest Frys to me is over 300-400 miles away. I did not see any other Klipsch deals outside of Frys and Adorama ...

The Sony STR-DN1060 and Sony STR-DN1070 are excellent receivers but you'll need the Sony STR-DN1080 to use the ATMOS feature.

My only justification is that I need to free up floor space so I need in wall/ceiling speakers

How would these compare to the Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers? Major upgrade, or modest?

Lol if that's your only hesitation, you shouldn't care what anyone else thinks. Their opinion(s) has no bearing on what you hear and like.
All that matters is what you think.
If you have heard these and like them this seems like a pretty decent deal.

Well actually you should get the speakers 1st then the receiver IMO.
So unfortunately no one will be able to tell you what sounds good to you.
You should start by going out and listen to speakers and find what sounds good to you and go from there.
