Apple is definitely using the retailers to push out the remaining of 2018 models out the door as fast as possible...

6th Ave Electronics has A LOT of terrible reviews by a basic Google search. Anyone had luck with them?

This.
with mondays release of new MBPs it looks like the 2018s may get even cheaper over the next few months.

I've had one since late 2016. I probably used the Touch Bar 5 times for things other than Touch ID. Really wasn't as useful for me as I thought it would be. Perhaps because I alternate working on an iMac which doesn't have it and I never get used to looking for things in Touch Bar. YMMV

My daughter is going to college for graphic design. Is it worth the money to get the 15" over the 13"?

Thanks

I think the touchbar is overrated at best and annoying at worst.

The real flaw is the battery life. For some reason it drains like a mobile phone (3-6 hrs) while having 8+ chrome tabs when the old "aluminum tank" version before it powered on for a solid 6-8 hours with the same amount.

The processor is current but not cutting edge and I had to replace the screen because I cracked the lcd when my headphone jack wedged between it and the screen. My fault on the last part but the thin screen is fragile AF and expensive w/o applecare or a rental.

Aesthetics are nicer, and I guess the fingerprint scanner (standard everywhere) is a convenient addition. The 3 USB ports are also a standard for expensive laptops.

I was a great admirer of MBPs before this version. Compared to the model before it, the looks and branding play more a role in price rather than user design and convenience.

Time to change my Asus Rog from 6 years ago, always wanted to try a MacBook, I mainly use Sketchup + V-ray for quick RT architectural renders when meeting with clients, can any one recommend please?

FYI, for anyone that is waiting for 2019 Macbook models, Apple announced due to the Intel CPU shortages. The 2019 models wont be coming out until October or so.

[EDIT] I was going by this Forbes article but looks like I read it wrong. https://www.forbes.com/sites/ewan...fications/
