Some are but for the most part there hasn't been a design innovation on it for a while until recently so that's why they all pretty much look the same. Also beware of knock offs.

For anyone that may be interested in this tripod, I would recommend it. I have a bit higher end one but it puts Mefoto tripods to shame. The weight hook at the bottom is easy to pull. The leg locks are quarter twist turns(mefoto are about 1 turn to lock, insane) and the construction is just as good as any other high end manufacturer, manfrotto, mefoto, benro. My only complaint is about Sirui ball heads but, this doesn't include one.

Yea. The sirui k ball heads are ok. But they don't work in very cold weather. -20F.

Tripods are solid. I have two sets.

This set is for very lightweight cameras and travel. It's not going to be super stable.

I have a similar carbon fiber version of this (T-025X) and its great, but you MUST weigh it down. Sure you'll find plenty of amateur photographers who think its perfectly stable, but they don't realize just how much sharper their photos can be (especially longer exposures) if they would have weighed their tripod down.

Looks like this version is almost a pound heavier though so maybe not as important. Either way you wont get much more out of a travel tripod no matter the price. And no, just because you don't mind carrying a 5 pound tripod, that does not make it better for traveling.

This company WAS an OEM manufacturer for premium brands. So there is a reason many looked the same - they were the ones that made them. I think its been about a decade since they ventured off and have been selling their gear under their own brand. Other tripods that look the same are knock-offs of them!

Great tripod at a great price. I have a similar model from Sirui that works great. I'm drooling over that new, expensive, Peak Design tripod on Kickstarter now but no way I can justify the cost based on my needs.

Damn right. The peak design ones are ridiculously overpriced.

I would highly recommend this, especially at this price. Bang for a buck is an understatement. Twist lock is kinda annoying, but everything has pros and cons. This is the cheapest tripod I have, but I probably use it the most (I have the longer version, but they are almost identical).

I have a Sirui K-30x ball head and I love it. It's been fantastic. I dont know what else I could ask of one.

I have no plans to be in -20F though.

Pan and tilt is sold separately? What the heck. I don't keep up with tripod tech.

You can justify almost any price if there's someone willing to buy it. Sucker born every minute.
